I figured this would turn out to be McQueen because it's vaguely reminiscent of Cate Blanchett in this top, but... like the department store designer impostor version. Or like if McQueen did a diffusion line with The Gap.

This is simple but fits like an absolute dream.

Bless Dionne Warwick for being like, "No, I'm good in a tracksuit and clogs, this is just an afternoon deal." Chastain's outfit is SO BRIGHT. Phew.

Mourad Zaoui

He's in The Forgiven with Jessica. And my goodness. Between him and Oscar Isaac... that is a lot of handsomeness in Jessica Chastain's professional life all at once.

Laura Prepon

This looks like she had a tiff... with her stylist. ZING. No, seriously, it's just sort of plain, and no attempt has been made to spice it up.

Vicky Krieps

It took me such a long time to connect her face and name with The Phantom Thread, and I'm not sure why -- it isn't as if she looks that different, and she's at the center of that movie. Mostly, I guess I came away from that film with a lot of thoughts about mushrooms. (I like the dress on her. She looks like an old timey governess.)

Rebecca Ferguson

Even Dune didn't draw the whole cast to Toronto, sadly. This is probably the best thing she's worn in service of the movie, but that's not saying a lot. It's very ... okay.

Danis Goulet

Danis is a Cree-Métis filmmaker whose movie, Night Raiders, has themes that very much mirror the horrifying mass grave discoveries on the grounds of former residential schools in Canada. It's really cool to see an indigenous filmmaker working the festivals -- and with a movie that has cultural relevance and resonance on a lot of levels. She also looks great; I love the sleeves.

Dionne Warwick

I believe she has a documentary there about herself, for which she took over the TIFF Twitter account, which is so right.

Josh O'Connor

I think this suit is going to give me bad dreams.

Justine Bateman

Justine directed "Violet," in the festival, which features a lead performance by Olivia Munn that's getting really good reviews -- but, for probably several reasons, she isn't in Canada to do the promotion for it and that is probably a bummer for her. When you're doing work people are celebrating, it's nice to celebrate WITH them. Justine carried the torch pretty well, with some light 80s flair.

Kenny G

Kenny has a documentary out called "Listening to Kenny G," which I assume involves a whole lot of listening to Kenny G. Reassuringly, Kenny G looks exactly as he always looks. In this changing world, we can rely on so few things. Kenny G is one of them.

Joshua Jackson

I know skinny pants are falling out of fashion, but I wail again: Must we go all the way back to these? They don't look stylishly, intentionally baggy; they're just big khakis that remind me of 8th grade dances. They lack refinement, which the rest of this outfit really demands. (He's not technically at TIFF, but he's at an event for this company in Toronto DURING TIFF, and I've decided it's related.)

What Did We Miss at TIFF?
Not a TON, fortunately.
