Cody Fern, from the Ryan Murphy stable of actors (he's in the Versace series, he played the Antichrist, etc.), wrote *Closing Night* as a showcase for Sarah Paulson, and [*Variety* likes her chances for an Oscar nod](https://variety.com/2026/film/features/sarah-paulson-closing-night-tiff-oscar-ryan-murphy-pedro-pascal-american-horror-story-1236859369/?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io). I hope this pans out, because she is a wild sartorial ride at all times.

Also: Petition to move TIFF to early August, so that we can end The Summer Doldrums just a LITTLE bit earlier. As it is, we have a dead zone and then Venice, TIFF, NYFW, and the Emmys, all overlapping in some form or another. Don't be like a teenager's socks, stuck in a big pile of other stuff, unable to break through! Thank you for your consideration.
