(Photo by Kevin Mazur/Getty Images for Tony Awards Productions) When she opened the show in this, I called it Grown-Up Glow-Up *Annie* \-- not knowing she actually WOULD sing a song from *Annie* later (albeit in a different gown). The front of this was so good... ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/06/GettyImages-2219229650-1749441984.jpg) NEW YORK, NEW YORK - JUNE 08: Cynthia Erivo and Adam Lambert perform during The 78th Annual Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall on June 08, 2025 in New York City. (Photo by Kevin Mazur/Getty Images for Tony Awards Productions) ... but then the back looked like an accident?!? My theory is that they redid this and patched it together to accommodate the mic pack, and hoped TV wouldn't see it. ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/06/GettyImages-2219232910-1749441956.jpg) NEW YORK, NEW YORK - JUNE 08: Host Cynthia Erivo attends The 78th Annual Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall on June 08, 2025 in New York City. (Photo by Jenny Anderson/Getty Images for Tony Awards Productions) This made me laugh. She looks like a homemade handbag. It's delightful but I also think this is the one that MAY have been too much even for her to pull off. ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/06/GettyImages-2219244274-1749441790.jpg) NEW YORK, NEW YORK - JUNE 08: Cynthia Erivo hosts The 78th Annual Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall on June 08, 2025 in New York City. YES. ## Cynthia Erivo ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/06/GettyImages-2219237993-1749441887.jpg) NEW YORK, NEW YORK - JUNE 08: Cynthia Erivo hosts The 78th Annual Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall on June 08, 2025 in New York City. (Photo by Theo Wargo/Getty Images for Tony Awards Productions) This is lovely, too. She can veer so easily between experimental and sweet. ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/06/GettyImages-2219236079-1749441919.jpg) NEW YORK, NEW YORK - JUNE 08: Host Cynthia Erivo attends The 78th Annual Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall on June 08, 2025 in New York City. (Photo by Theo Wargo/Getty Images for Tony Awards Productions) They sang "Tomorrow" for the In Memoriam, and as much as I worshipped that show as a kid, I wasn't enamored of that song choice for this. But they sounded great, and when Gavin Creel came up at the end, Cynthia was actively comforting Sara -- it was SO sad. They both look spectacular. ## The 78th Annual Tony Awards - Backstage ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/06/GettyImages-2219245983-1749441771.jpg) NEW YORK, NEW YORK - JUNE 08: Host Cynthia Erivo attends The 78th Annual Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall on June 08, 2025 in New York City. (Photo by Jemal Countess/Getty Images for Tony Awards Productions) I want to know how they transported all these outfits for her. How many trunks, how many bags, how many interns. They ALL survived the process. ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/06/GettyImages-2219245974-1749441761.jpg) NEW YORK, NEW YORK - JUNE 08: Host Cynthia Erivo performs onstage during The 78th Annual Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall on June 08, 2025 in New York City. (Photo by Theo Wargo/Getty Images for Tony Awards Productions) BIG FINISH. "And I Am Telling You, I Am Going" was funny and stunningly delivered, and I would have stayed all night if she wanted to keep going. What a PERFECT gown to end in, also. She looked spectacular the whole time. ## Natalie Venetia Belcon and the cast of "Buena Vista Social Club" ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/06/GettyImages-2219233654-1749441941.jpg) NEW YORK, NEW YORK - JUNE 08: Natalie Venetia Belcon and the cast of "Buena Vista Social Club" perform onstage during The 78th Annual Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall on June 08, 2025 in New York City. (Photo by Kevin Mazur/Getty Images for Tony Awards Productions) Also, a moment for how FANTASTIC this outfit looked on-stage. ## Megan Hilty and the cast of "Death Becomes Her" ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/06/GettyImages-2219229828-1749441991.jpg) NEW YORK, NEW YORK - JUNE 08: Megan Hilty and the cast of "Death Becomes Her" perform onstage during The 78th Annual Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall on June 08, 2025 in New York City. (Photo by Theo Wargo/Getty Images for Tony Awards Productions) I was sad for Jennifer Simard, her co-nominee and co-star, because this number didn't include her and so she didn't get to show off. I hope this was a group decision and that she didn't mind. This number WAS ideal for the Tonys. ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/06/GettyImages-2219232701-1749441975.jpg) NEW YORK, NEW YORK - JUNE 08: Megan Hilty and the cast of "Death Becomes Her" perform onstage during The 78th Annual Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall on June 08, 2025 in New York City. (Photo by Kevin Mazur/Getty Images for Tony Awards Productions) Also, the acrobatics she did in this Liza wig! That thing HELD. ## Groffsauce ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/06/GettyImages-2219233346-1749441967.jpg) NEW YORK, NEW YORK - JUNE 08: Jonathan Groff performs a number from "Just in Time" onstage during The 78th Annual Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall on June 08, 2025 in New York City. (Photo by Theo Wargo/Getty Images for Tony Awards Productions) As part of this number, and right after Cynthia Erivo told a great joke about how he famously spits a lot while singing, Jonathan Groff got up on Keanu Reeves's armrests and sang above him. I hope it rained on him (and they missed a chance to put Keanu in a rainhat). ## Rachel Bay Jones and Kristin Chenoweth ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/06/GettyImages-2219234602-1749441948.jpg) NEW YORK, NEW YORK - JUNE 08: (L-R) Rachel Bay Jones and Kristin Chenoweth speak onstage during The 78th Annual Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall on June 08, 2025 in New York City. (Photo by Theo Wargo/Getty Images for Tony Awards Productions) Cheno changed after the red carpet, and... she should not have. ## Nicole Scherzinger ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/06/GettyImages-2219234660-1749441929.jpg) NEW YORK, NEW YORK - JUNE 08: Nicole Scherzinger performs onstage during The 78th Annual Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall on June 08, 2025 in New York City. (Photo by Kevin Mazur/Getty Images for Tony Awards Productions) As I said in the live chat, I kept wondering where I had heard this before, and I realized it's because she essentially cosplayed the Barbra Streisand recording. It was uncanny, and kind of detracted from the performance for me. I wanted it to feel more original. ## Nicholas Barasch, Jinkx Monsoon, David Hyde Pierce, Ramin Karimloo, Samantha Williams, and the cast of "Pirates! The Penzance Musical" ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/06/GettyImages-2219236974-1749441903.jpg) NEW YORK, NEW YORK - JUNE 08: Nicholas Barasch, Jinkx Monsoon, David Hyde Pierce, Ramin Karimloo, Samantha Williams, and the cast of "Pirates! (Photo by Kevin Mazur/Getty Images for Tony Awards Productions) Jinkx! David! Ramin! SO many washboards! ## Darren Criss and Helen J Shen ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/06/GettyImages-2219236456-1749441896.jpg) NEW YORK, NEW YORK - JUNE 08: (L-R) Darren Criss and Helen J Shen perform a number from "Maybe Happy Ending" onstage during The 78th Annual Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall on June 08, 2025 in New York City. (Photo by Theo Wargo/Getty Images for Tony Awards Productions) She absolutely SOBBED when he won, so their working relationship must be lovely. I did get a little confused here because he totally read as Robot but I couldn't tell if she ALSO was meant to be because she played it more humanly than he did? That might be a plot point that I'm missing without having seen the full show. ## The Hamiltons ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/06/GettyImages-2219238579-1749441845.jpg) NEW YORK, NEW YORK - JUNE 08: The cast of "Hamilton" performs onstage during The 78th Annual Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall on June 08, 2025 in New York City. (Photo by Theo Wargo/Getty Images for Tony Awards Productions) It was cool to see a Hamilton medley with the originals -- what a talented group of people, and honestly, it's still a banger. ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/06/GettyImages-2219238551-1749441868.jpg) NEW YORK, NEW YORK - JUNE 08: Christopher Jackson and the cast of "Hamilton" perform onstage during The 78th Annual Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall on June 08, 2025 in New York City. (Photo by Theo Wargo/Getty Images for Tony Awards Productions) Special shoutout to my Broadway boyfriend. If he'd sung "One Last Time" I would have burst into tears. ## Okieriete Onadowan ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/06/GettyImages-2219238495-1749441859.jpg) NEW YORK, NEW YORK - JUNE 08: Okieriete Onaodowan and the cast of "Hamilton" perform onstage during The 78th Annual Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall on June 08, 2025 in New York City. (Photo by Theo Wargo/Getty Images for Tony Awards Productions) And I missed you, Hercules Mulligan! ## Taylor Trensch, Sean Allan Krill, Jeremy Jordan, Cole Vaughan and Kevyn Morrow of the cast of "Floyd Collins" ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/06/GettyImages-2219238650-1749441852.jpg) NEW YORK, NEW YORK - JUNE 08: (L-R) Taylor Trensch, Sean Allan Krill, Jeremy Jordan, Cole Vaughan and Kevyn Morrow of the cast of "Floyd Collins" perform onstage during The 78th Annual Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall on June 08, 2025 in New York City. (Photo by Theo Wargo/Getty Images for Tony Awards Productions) I have read mixed things about a LOT of these shows, and I am not sure the number from Floyd Collins did a lot for it. But then I went and read the synopsis and I got a little emotional?!? Let's face it, if it comes to LA, I'm going to try and see it. ## Sam Pinkleton ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/06/GettyImages-2219239696-1749441836.jpg) NEW YORK, NEW YORK - JUNE 08: Sam Pinkleton accepts the Best Direction of a Play award for "Oh, Mary!" onstage during The 78th Annual Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall on June 08, 2025 in New York City. (Photo by Theo Wargo/Getty Images for Tony Awards Productions) He's the "Oh Mary" director, and I just wanted to tip my hat to that lovely long coat by Thom Browne. ## Bryan Cranston and Allison Janney (in Raisa Vanessa) ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/06/GettyImages-2219239619-1749441826.jpg) NEW YORK, NEW YORK - JUNE 08: (L-R) Bryan Cranston and Allison Janney speak onstage during The 78th Annual Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall on June 08, 2025 in New York City. (Photo by Theo Wargo/Getty Images for Tony Awards Productions) Allison looks so good until you realize that her dress is a little see-through under the lights. I hate that for her, because I honestly don't know if she would have been able to tell? ## Audra ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/06/GettyImages-2219243054-1749441807.jpg) NEW YORK, NEW YORK - JUNE 08: Audra McDonald performs a number from "Gypsy" onstage during The 78th Annual Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall on June 08, 2025 in New York City. (Photo by Theo Wargo/Getty Images for Tony Awards Productions) She had the audience in her hand, for sure. I'm disappointed she didn't win -- as disappointed as I can be, given that I have not gotten to see any of these shows in full! -- but she'll win another one. She's Audra. I just really wanted her to get it this year after Patti came for her. ## Eddie Cooper, Julia Knitel, Jeb Brown, Andrew Durand, Thom Sesma, Trent Saunders and the cast of "Dead Outlaw" ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/06/GettyImages-2219241372-1749441800.jpg) NEW YORK, NEW YORK - JUNE 08: Eddie Cooper, Julia Knitel, Jeb Brown, Andrew Durand, Thom Sesma, Trent Saunders and the cast of "Dead Outlaw" perform onstage during The 78th Annual Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall on June 08, 2025 in New York City. (Photo by Theo Wargo/Getty Images for Tony Awards Productions) This looks like a hoot. ## Auli'i Cravalho ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/06/GettyImages-2219244231-1749441780.jpg) NEW YORK, NEW YORK - JUNE 08: Auli'i Cravalho speaks onstage during The 78th Annual Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall on June 08, 2025 in New York City. (Photo by Theo Wargo/Getty Images for Tony Awards Productions) This is just delightful. ## ustina Machado, Tatianna Córdoba, Florencia Cuenca and the cast of "Real Women Have Curves" ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/06/GettyImages-2219247932-1749441753.jpg) NEW YORK, NEW YORK - JUNE 08: (L-R) Justina Machado, Tatianna Córdoba, Florencia Cuenca and the cast of "Real Women Have Curves" perform onstage during The 78th Annual Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall on June 08, 2025 in New York City. (Photo by Kevin Mazur/Getty Images for Tony Awards Productions) As was this. I feel like this show got a little forgotten, and I heard WONDERFUL things about it, so I hope getting to perform during a hot time -- the wait for Lead Actress -- gives it a boost. ## Darren Criss ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/06/GettyImages-2219247953-1749441744.jpg) NEW YORK, NEW YORK - JUNE 08: Darren Criss poses with the Best Musical award for "Maybe Happy Ending" in The 78th Annual Tony Awards Media Room presented by Carnegie Mellon University at 3 West Club on June 08, 2025 in New York City. (Photo by Mike Coppola/Getty Images for Tony Awards Productions) He looks like the ringmaster. I would have swapped this outfit with the sparkly jacket he wore on the pre-show.
