# Tracee Ellis Ross Celebrated Black Designers at the AMAs

Tracee hosted the AMAs again this year ([here's what she wore last time](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/tracee-ellis-ross-let-it-rip-last-night-11-2017/), for fun comparative purposes), and announced on-stage that she'd be supporting black designers all night long. This makes her the third celebrity in recent memory to use a platform with a lot of eyeballs to serve her culture -- the others being [Issa Rae when she hosted the CFDAs](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/issa-rae-did-some-outfit-changes-at-the-cfdas-06-2018/), and [Gemma Chan](https://gofugyourself.com/celebs/gemma-chan?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io), who spent much of the *Crazy Rich Asians* press tour Instagramming details about the background and heritage of the Asian designers she chose. Interestingly, Tracee here is wearing the same designer -- Pyer Moss -- that [Issa wore on the main CFDA red carpet](https://www.gofugyourself.com/photos/pants-at-the-cfdas/cfda-fashion-awards-arrivals-new-york-usa-04-jun-2018-17?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io), which is a pretty big win for a brand that's not a household name yet, so well done, y'all, and I hope you crack some bubbly.
