Speaking of kind and methodical vibes, I have no idea how Navy Boss Who Is Concerned About This Major Briggs Situation Ernie Hudson is going to turn out, personality-wise, as this series plays out, but right now he seems very calm about the fact that he's got some potentially paranormal shit at work. I guess when you were a Ghostbuster in a previous career, you learn to take things in stride.
Diane's Living Room
Diane is obviously a profoundly miserable human right now -- what with the alcoholism and how often she tells EVERYONE to fuck off -- but her taste in mid-century furnishings is DIVINE.

Just a shout-out to Arm Brain Tree Thingie, which I was delighted to see again. It's so helpful! It really would like Dougie to SNAP OUT OF IT and become Dale again. At least he's back in his usual suit, Arm Brain Tree Thingie! BABY STEPS.

And finally, I just want to note how much it cracked me up that we had to watch like five full minutes of a man sweeping the floor before we got any plot in this scene. I don't know. If anyone else did this, I'd be all eyeroll-y about it, but David Lynch just amuses me.
