Twin-Peaks-Recap

This is what it's gonna look like when Kyle MacLachlan accepts an offer to record just a whole bunch of those videos that accompany karoke.

Twin-Peaks-Recap

This is the exterior of Cooper's Space Condo, overlooking what is perhaps a literal interpretation of The Sea of Tranquility (I don't know. We could be on the moon!) It then disappears, of course, because reality is highly flexible.

I think this is Bobby's dad, Major Briggs, right? Whose giant head floats past Cooper with this little bit of wisdom? Later, Albert calls the Agent Creeper development a "blue rose," and I had to look it up, but that's Twin Peaksian for Agent Cole's most special cases. For someone who is just letting this wash over her, I have spent a LOT of time of the Twin Peaks wiki this weekend. Major Briggs is allegedly dead, but maybe he's not? Maybe...he's...a disembodied head?

PRO TIP: When you're trying not to vomit and then get sucked into the cigarette lighter of your sweet sweet Lincoln, PULL OVER.  Can someone please make sure that Matthew McConaughey knows about this?

It me.

I just wanted to give a shout-out to Jade's honestly really good pink lipstick. (It matches her boots.) And also to note that Jade seriously is the only person in Las Vegas with any sense with regards to what is and what is not normal behavior, even if she DOESN'T realize that this Dougie Jones is much much more handsome than the one she just finished doing some business with.

Twin-Peaks-Recap

This man is trying to shoot Dougie. There's also a woman who lives across the street from the empty House of Assignations who seems to have a super serious problem with drugs and alcohol but who could also, you know, be disembodied creature from the future or some shit. I just wanted to note that she EXISTED.

I hope someone is selling these, and I hope that person IS Hawk, who deserves to have a rollicking Etsy gig on the side if only for the superhuman strength he exhibited by not snapping at Lucy when she squealed, "YOU'RE AN INDIAN!" at him.

Look for these in Goop's gift guide. For real.

I can think of no more soothing imagry to be found in the office of a federal employee.

I just wanted to note a few things about Naomi Watts: So far, she's excellent in this part. Her character has the absurd name of Janey-E and I can't figure out if that's pronounced Janie-EEEEEEEEEE or what. And until she popped up in this, I completely forgot she was going to be in it, and that of course she would be: She's in Lynch's stable of actors thanks to Mullholland Drive (which Robert Forster was also in).

I thought you might want to see Richard Chamberlain.

And also to give a warm welcome to our friend Denise.

A round of applause for silver fox Bobby Briggs, who I hope has a good therapist on speed dial, given that his dad is now a disembodied floating space head.

Twin-Peaks-Recap

It took me an embarassingly long time to realize that Sheriff Truman II is wearing a belt and a gun holster, not two belts.

Twin-Peaks-Recap

It's a measure of how much I am enjoying this show that Michael Cera, whom I generally find to be PROFOUNDLY ANNOYING, amused me vaguely in this scene.

Twin-Peaks-Recap

Between the rediscovery of the thumbs-up, and the appreciation for a cup of coffee (if not its taste), Fugue State Cooper is surely going to snap out of it sooner than later, right? RIGHT?

Twin-Peaks-Recap

Even Agent Creeper doesn't seem quite himself. Not himself at all.

Twin Peaks Stays Weird AF in Episodes 3 and 4
We still don't know if the owls are what they seem at the moment.
