Originally, I gave this a Well Played. I still might want to, but I tripped on whether it seems a bit roomy on her, somehow. But that fabric is so delicious, and double-sided, like the very best kind of wrapping paper -- like something they might sell at Liberty, for the equivalent of the GDP of a small country.
And then, of course, there's the question of how we feel about the half-skirt. I like it here better than if it were a standard mullet, for sure, and I always appreciate when people take a show peephole extremely seriously by deploying ornate footwear. A lesser soul might have punted.
She just looks so freaking GOOD in this. Would we rather it were cocktail-length, in fact? Or, part of me thinks the fabric is SO interesting and unique and stunning, it almost needed a simpler treatment. Just a straightforward strapless, long skirt maybe with a thin gold belt or waist detail to break it up. You don't always need design bells and whistles when the FABRIC is all bells and whistles. There could've been some cool draping to flash the underside without needing to go quite so far, perhaps.
Then again... see above where I said she looks really freaking good in it here.
I just wanted you to see the colors up close.
