Leaving aside for a second what's happening on TOP of her head -- something we either say or think about her a WHOLE LOT lately -- the dress itself is not working for me. I think it's because, kind of like her Met Ball outfit, it doesn't seem relaxed enough for her vibe. Further, the colors are an issue for me. (Maybe she's finished evaluating all the variants on white and is now testing all the bridal hues in the Champagne family.) The gold/yellow/whatever doesn't contrast enough with the backing color to be interesting, and they don't cooperate well enough for it to add subtle texture. Shame, because it's actually a very pretty bodice.

I don't dislike it as MUCH from close up -- maybe my ideal would be to keep the bodice and somehow change up the skirt, making it a simple black or something. I don't know. I still maintain something about it, her skin tone, and the makeup is not playing nicely in the sandbox.
AND THE HAIR. I super hate it. The hair might be ruining the whole thing for me. Because if you're going with a fabric that evokes a fancy-pants old chair in a royal salon, you should make sure you look sleek and shiny. This is... blurry.

It's just bad. Don't do an updo that looks like it's in the process of becoming an undo. There are ways to do loose and flirty; this isn't it.

And now we're into the bridal blush hies. I actually don't hate this on her -- it's not perfect, but it's intricately made, and probably beautiful in person. It manages to be both very formal and a tad more relaxed. I think Jessica Biel does better when she manages to hit that balance, rather than the really stiff formalwear that doesn't jibe with the fact that I think there's something inherently beachy about her. What do you think, Fug Nation? How is La Biel doing for you? Would you fix these, keep 'em, or abandon ship?
