Blake apparently got angry at a reporter who asked her a clothing-related question at this event, because she was there, in part, to talk about her work fighting child pornography, and she didn't think a question about "power outfits" was appropriate. And while I recognize her point, I also think it's more nuanced than that: (a) you're walking the press line and you're speaking to people from outlets that cover clothing; often a pithy comment about clothes is what that those reporters use to hook a reader into a piece that eventually delves into deeper subject matter. (b) Reprimanding said reporter turned into a major story, when just answering the question briefly then pivoting to, "but what I'd really like to talk about is...." would have being much more effective in terms of messaging. (c) Working a press line is hard and stringers are often asked by their editors to get specific quotes. Yelling at them for trying to do the job they've been asked to do is not a great look. We're all just trying our best out there on the press line. (d) I always find it a bit rich when celebrites who accept hundreds of thousands of dollars of free clothing, and who have been made rich with clothing and beauty endorsements, become aggrieved when they're asked to opine on the aforementioned. The hashtag is "ask her MORE" not "NEVER ask her." I've been scolded for asking an admittedly dumb but ultimately innocous question on the red carpet before, and it's a shitty thing for a person of power (the celebrity) to do to a reporter. This event was called "Power of Women;" for a stringer from a fashion publication to ask a question about power dressing as an opening salvo feels completely normal to me.

And FWIW, although the color of this is fantastic, I'm not sure I love this jumpsuit. Dressing for a luncheon event is always rife with complications.
