I am as sure as a person can be that he walked around later -- and possibly beforehand -- with no jeans on underneath these. That is, IF they are indeed chaps, and not simply package-framing pants. But they are clearly chosen to direct your attentin to the thumb he would like most to put up. That he stuck his backstage pass to it feels almost disgustingly symbolic.
