We got the sad news last week that punk icon and corset-designer extraordinaire Vivienne Westwood died on December 29th at the age of 81\. She led a fascinating life; [her New York Times obituary is full of incredibly interesting tidbits](https://www.nytimes.com/2022/12/29/fashion/vivienne-westwood-dead.html?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io), like "she once took a class of 8 years olds to see *Battleship Potemkin*, Sergei Eisenstein’s epic 1925 film about proletariat revolution," among other things. [Vulture has a nice round-up of statements about her from celebs with great pics](https://www.vulture.com/2022/12/vivienne-westwood-death-celebrities-react.html?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io) \-- as Heather said to me when the news broke, we hope Helena Bonham Carter is taking it okay! -- and [this remembrance in *The Guardian* is likewise very nicely done](https://www.theguardian.com/fashion/2022/dec/30/vivienne-westwood-an-appreciation?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io). As for us, please enjoy some of her best red carpet moments. There are a whole lot of high points.
