MTV Video Music Awards - Red Carpet Arrivals, New York, USA - 12 Sep 2021 I look at this and think, "Perhaps people should require a license to use a stapler." ## Megan Fox in Mugler ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/09/shutterstock_editorial_12441559da-1631493720.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Evan Agostini/Invision/AP/Shutterstock (12441559da) Megan Fox arrives at the MTV Video Music Awards at Barclays Center, in New York 2021 MTV Video Music Awards - Arrivals, New York, United States - 12 Sep 2021 Is she really "in" Mugler here? Is she really "in" much of anything? Listen. We all thought [Zendaya looked great at Venice in the wet look](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/zendaya-makes-beige-anything-but-boring-09-2021/), but where Zendaya goes, mortals should fear to tread. And you, Megan Fox, are no Zendaya. (She is not even doing this as well as Kim Kardashian did, and that was ALSO Mugler, but at the Met so they put a lot more time into it.) I don't know. I really liked Megan on "New Girl" and think she is more interesting than Refried Hot Mermaid. ## Winnie Harlow in LaQuan Smith ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/09/shutterstock_editorial_12439060ch-1631493729.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Stephen Lovekin/Shutterstock (12439060ch) Winnie Harlow MTV Video Music Awards, Arrivals, New York, USA - 12 Sep 2021 A wool coat is not a shirt. ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/09/shutterstock_editorial_12441686h-1631499002.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by AFF-USA/Shutterstock (12441686h) Winnie Harlow MTV Video Music Awards, Arrivals, New York, USA - 12 Sep 2021 And yes, they're not even really Daisy Dukes. They are underpants. ## Doja Cat in Vivienne Westwood ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/09/shutterstock_editorial_12439060w-1631493737.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Stephen Lovekin/Shutterstock (12439060w) Doja Cat MTV Video Music Awards, Arrivals, New York, USA - 12 Sep 2021 I like her eye makeup. But this is another one that looks like her skirt got jacked up when she was trying to use the bathroom and no one told her. ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/09/shutterstock_editorial_12441598t-1631493746.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Jeremy Smith/imageSPACE/Shutterstock (12441598t) Doja Cat 2021 MTV Video Music Awards,Arrivals, New York, USA - 12 Sep 2021 Somehow it's even worse from the side. ## Ashanti in Michael Costello ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/09/shutterstock_editorial_12439061jy-1631493769.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Matt Baron/Shutterstock (12439061jy) Ashanti MTV Video Music Awards, Arrivals, New York, USA - 12 Sep 2021 Oh, the places she'll chafe! I assume, also, that this requires a catheter. ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/09/shutterstock_editorial_12441559do-1631493778.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Evan Agostini/Invision/AP/Shutterstock (12441559do) Ashanti arrives at the MTV Video Music Awards at Barclays Center, in New York 2021 MTV Video Music Awards - Arrivals, New York, United States - 12 Sep 2021 Well, maybe not, maybe wrangling can be done. But who wants to have THAT conversation with their stylist? (Also is this the first Michael Costello someone has worn since he had that public drama with Chrissy Teigen?) ## Charli XCX ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/09/shutterstock_editorial_12439061kq-1631493761.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Matt Baron/Shutterstock (12439061kq) Charli XCX MTV Video Music Awards, Arrivals, New York, USA - 12 Sep 2021 Her Elvira costume has been rotting in an attic and now it's mostly cobwebs. She was, sadly, undaunted. ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/09/shutterstock_editorial_12441543ja-1631499010.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Broadimage/Shutterstock (12441543ja) Charlie XCX 2021 MTV VMAs, Barclays Center Brooklyn, New York City, USA - 12 Sep 2021 Confidence in one's clothing requires so much more f'ing WORK these days. ## Ciara in Tom Ford ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/09/shutterstock_editorial_12441559dw-1631493753.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Evan Agostini/Invision/AP/Shutterstock (12441559dw) Ciara arrives at the MTV Video Music Awards at Barclays Center, in New York 2021 MTV Video Music Awards - Arrivals, New York, United States - 12 Sep 2021 I thought this was going to be Julien Macdonald, which is... not great for Tom Ford. ## Madonna ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/09/GettyImages-1339926271-1631493694.jpg) NEW YORK, NEW YORK - SEPTEMBER 12: Madonna speaks onstage during the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards at Barclays Center on September 12, 2021 in the Brooklyn borough of New York City. (Photo by John Shearer/MTV VMAs 2021/Getty Images for MTV/ViacomCBS) Do we think this means she's coming to the Met Gala? I guess she lives in New York, so possibly not, but all she did for this was march out and say, "We're back, motherfuckers," and then turn around and work that wedgie walk all the way back inside. I just... Jess says a bit more about this later today, but I do wish Madonna had figured out the groovy evolution of her brand. This feels so stale for someone who was once so revolutionary. ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/09/GettyImages-1339928081-1631493703.jpg) NEW YORK, NEW YORK - SEPTEMBER 12: Madonna speaks onstage during the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards at Barclays Center on September 12, 2021 in the Brooklyn borough of New York City.
