From left: Kaia Gerber (in Tom Ford), Anok Yai (Ralph Lauren), Precious Lee (Carolina Herrera), Bella Hadid (Christopher John Rogers), Sherry Shi (Proenza Schouler), Ariel Nicholson (Christopher John Rogers), Yumi Nu (Mara Hoffma), Lola Leon (Kors)

Let's start with: If you cover up the right half to see what the newsstand cover is, your eye goes straight to Bella Hadid and a computer monitor. Is Anna surreptitiously trying to entice people back to the office? Kaia Gerber looks like a complete afterthought here, so much so that I wish they'd put someone else in it. Apparently they were all at the office together, but some of this feels like an amalgam of solo shots -- like, where is Ariel looking? Bella is laughing at someone off-camera. Kaia isn't quite looking at Lola, who is KIND OF looking at Precious? Who is halfway looking down at Anok, who is looking at us. It's a terrible photo of Precious and Ariel, too, which is unfortunate. I guess that guy will be able to get some work done, at least, because he's pinned into his desk.

The photo shoot feels a lot like the models as otherwordly muses, perhaps not even visible to the people around them, perched dramatically in the Conde offices. It's an interesting idea, but also totally bizarre to frame your models-of-the-moment as being totally ignored by everyone around them.

Sherri Shi

This poor woman is just trying to get through a Zoom call with Anna without fainting, vomiting, or sweating through her clothes, and suddenly a model-alien is crawling over onto her monitor? Is this a horror movie?
