Angela Bassett in Moschino

Well, that's some fantastic work by Jeremy Scott. She looks DIVINE. If we're talking color symbolism, purple can mean wisdom, spirituality, and royalty -- all applicable -- and the fight for gender equality, as it was used alongside green and white as a signature of the Women's Social and Political Union.

Danai Gurira in Robert Wun

I am PRETTY SURE this is another Robert Wun -- it seems like it's this, or a version thereof, and it's definitely kin to Janelle Monae's from the other day. I liked it better when the ruffles stood up.

I felt like we should get the full view, since it was available.

Love the color. Not a huge fan of the cut. HIs pants are practically in his armpits. It's so... boxy. He's in costume as Bart Simpson's head.

Winston Duke

I love it.

I think... a different shirt, with this suit. White, even. The purple is too close, and in a jarring way.

Michaela Coel

I might have simplified this and taken away the gloves, or the hilarious handbag. Maybe? Or are those things the final touches that make this delightfully BIG?

This photo of her with Tessa makes me laugh. Her face is like, "HOLY SHIT Angela Bassett looks good."

Auli'i Cravalho

That dress is a total home run -- I LOVE it -- and I even enjoy the gothic dark lip. You go, Moana. Play around. Sidebar: I can't believe more of the Marvel/Disney faces didn't come to this. If I were them and I could feasibly be considered "in the family," you could not have kept me away. I would have called Kevin Feige ten times an hour asking if I could "promote" something by coming to this premiere.

Quinta Brunson

To my surprise, I am feeling it. I wasn't sure I would, but she's selling me.

Sheryl Lee Ralph

Sheryl looks great, and all, but her son is DAPPER AS HELL.

"Does Haim need a fourth?!?!?!?!"

Am I just in a really good mood, or is most of the stuff in this slideshow super fun and/or unusual?

Connie Chiume

I TOLD you this was gonna be good!

Zola Williams

And, sometimes simple sparkly sheaths do the job, too.

Zuri Hall

We've got some real Angelina Jo-leg going on here. And I just realized that happened a decade ago, meaning... people may have forgotten what I mean!?!? Lordy we've been doing this a long time.

Dominique Thorne in Prabal Gurung

Mandatory Credit: Photo by John Salangsang/Shutterstock (13499847ss) Dominique Thorne 'Wakanda Forever' premiere, Arrivals, Los Angeles, California, USA - 26 Oct 2022

She is so cute, but this dress just felt a little messy.

It is not Prabal's best work. Which is a bummer, because she'd have looked so delightful in the stuff that IS his better work, of which there is a lot.

Tyler Perry

Excellent jacket, sir.

Hmm. This one seems to have gotten away from the designer.

Caroline Wanga

If my Googling is correct, she's the CEO of Essence. I love that she went big here, and wish I could find out more about the dress. Hopefully she'll share stuff on Twitter.

Janeshia Adams-Ginyard

Mandatory Credit: Photo by John Salangsang/Shutterstock (13499847gc) Janeshia Adams-Ginyard 'Wakanda Forever' premiere, Arrivals, Los Angeles, California, USA - 26 Oct 2022

She is an actress and stuntwoman, and was also part of the first-ever African-American bobsled team?!? She went big at the Black Panther premiere, and in some ways bigger here? She seems to be preeeetty much naked but for her shoes and underpants, and that body paint is elaborate and must have taken a REALLY long time and presumably she has not sat down anywhere for HOURS? Did they do this on her backstage?

Aw.

Truly, Wakanda Forever's Premiere Was a Visual Feast
