It's nice to see that a bit of rest hasn't dimmed Zendaya's magic powers. Here, she's doing her usual magic trick of wearing something big and busy and yet somehow still making it about *her*. I'm not really thinking about the dress; I'm focused on how self-assured and glamorous she looks in it, meaning she's still my focus, which is exactly as it should be. A subtle difference, but a meaningful one. Objectively, yes, okay, it's the Stanford mascot redesigned as an Easter shrubbery, but it's also fun and frothy and a tantalizing teaser for spring. Fashion waits for no weather, besides which, thanks to the Southern Hemisphere and the equator and global warming, it's always a warm party *somewhere.* Might as well create it where you're standing, right?
