That's cute enough -- it seems appropriately functional for work, which is the most important thing. If she'd shown up in a freaking Balmain cocktail dress, I'd be worried.

And the shoes are super sensible, which I ALSO like, because I am desperately hoping that her brain continues to dominate no matter what the rest of her does. The more women who make it look to young girls like it's glamorous and cool to be smart -- because it IS -- the better. It's hard for kids to latch onto politicians, so maybe the sight of Amal Alamuddin Clooney going to work even though she has a villa in Lake Como will capture their fancy.

Meanwhile, everyone in the world just thought, "Maybe I want to be a human rights attorney!" Everyone and everyTHING is hotter in sunglasses.

The guy with her is a fellow lawyer named Geoffrey Robertson, who is clearly like, "THIS IS FUN THEY DON'T TEACH YOU THIS IN LAW SCHOOL." Also, she looks so good in that outfit, it's crazy. I wish I could do Casually Polished Work Clothes with an eighth of her panache.

Dear Kate Middleton: Hope you're feeling better. Your hair has competition. But don't worry about that until you stop hurling, okay? We want YOU healthy, not just your tresses. Best wishes, The Fug Girls. PS Pinch Cheeks's cheeks for us.

Well Played, Amal Alamuddin Clooney
It seems on her official website Amal has changed her name to Clooney. I actually don't generally care one way or the other what people do with their surnames after marriage, as long as it's what's right for them and their family. But in this specific case, I HAD sort of hoped she would be like, "Thanks, Intern George, but I already had this thing on lock without you." Edited to add: This link about what she's doing in Greece is lifted from the comments. She's working for Greece in its fight to get the Elgin Marbles -- fifth-century antiquities that were part of the Parthenon -- returned there from the U.K. That sounds like an extremely fun day job. I would LOVE to fight with people over who gets the awesome art. Joint custody, anyone? [Photos: Getty, Splash, AKM-GSI]
