Cara and Poppy Delevigne

So, Cara -- the model of the moment -- appears to be wearing a giant lizard on her head (and later, at the post-party, just a black eye patch, although I don't have a picture of it). while Poppy, the "model" who is related to her, wears a lovely dress and a mask with gilded feather antlers. I don't even have a joke about that. Those are just stated facts. How can one improve upon them? I do wish Roald Dahl had written a book about this party.

Camilla and Cara

"So nice to meet you, my dear. Did you misplace your head lizard or did it just run away when it saw Mario Testino over here?"

Cara and Prince Charles

"I am SO INTERESTED in whatever it is you just said and now can you please say Harry's phone number?"

"Oh, pet, THESE would be fun in the bedroom."

The Prince Of Wales & Duchess Of Cornwall Host A Royal Reception For The Elephant Family

There is something so awkward, to me, about the idea of being next to Prince Charles and Camilla while they watch extremely naked dancers writhing around. I am not sure I would want to have a casual conversation with him about the security of their nipple shields.

Mary Powys and Ruth Powys

One of these women is the CEO of The Elephant Family. The other ought to be come CEO of the Flamingo Family. ZING.

This reminds me fondly of the time we lived in Miami, and my Dad's office had a flooded balcony that they refused to fix, so he got a giant inflatable flamingo pool toy and put it out there and named it Placido Flamingo. And it made its point so well that one day, after many months, he came in to work and found that Placido had been MURDERED, with one neat hole punched in his neck. Instead of fixing his balcony they committed BIRDICIDE.

Jerry Hall

Jerry seems to be holding her mask. Then again, if I had that head of hair, I'd pull off my headgear and shake that stuff out ALL THE TIME.

Imran Khan

Well, pooh to you too, sir. Good day. I SAID GOOD DAY.

Well Played: Charles and Camilla (and others) At A Mask-Related Charity Event
This was for an event by The Elephant Family, which is not a pack of quirky British socialites, but "a small but hugely ambitious charity" that hopes to save the Asian elephant. If they keep doing it via parties that involve masks, I will give them everything. [Photos: Getty]
