Actually, I think that hat is charming. I read something a couple of years ago wherein a whole clutch of British designers were surveyed to see who the best dressed woman in the UK was, and the Queen won. I also enjoy imagining that they're recreating that old SNL skit with Martin Short as the synchronized swimmer who is illustrating how best to artfully point at people: "You, you! I know you! I know you!" If this were a soap opera, this would be the shot right before Harry turned away from the group and soliloquized, "THEY WILL PAY. THEY WILL ALL PAY, WHEN MY SECRET PLAN TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD BY CREATING A MASTER RACE OF GINGER POLO PLAYERS SUCCEEDS. MWHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA." In real life, I presume he's actually just thinking, like, "I can't believe me DVR didn't record the most recent Real Housewives reunion. TIVO AND I ARE GOING TO HAVE WORDS. This one -- worn for Prince Philip's birthday church service -- isn't my favorite. I love the color, but it's all so MATCHY. I do love that I think Kate is wearing, under her coat, the same Zara dress she wore the morning after The Wedding. THEY ARE JUST LIKE US. Except for all the castles and the millions. And the televised wedding ceremony. I enjoy that Kate repeated her hat from earlier in the week, and I LOVE THAT DRESS WITH ALL THAT IS IN ME. I want it. Pippa's look, I can live without. I feel like that satin coat makes her look about 25 years older than she is. Now that Harry's single, Pips, YOU HAVE TO UP YOUR GAME. [Well Played Couple of Weeks, Kate MiddletonThe Duchess of Cambridge -- Katie No More Waity -- was BUSY these last few weeks. Seems like the honeymoon ends, and girlfriend had to go right to work, showing up places in hats and making people enjoy Monarchy-Watching once more. I have great sympathy for anyone whose job requires looking so well-blown-out all the time. Right now, my own hair is making me look like the victim of an ancient curse. Hey, maybe that's why the royals love their hats so much -- you don't have to flat-iron the crown of your head so carefully when it's got a silk croissant popped on top of it.
