## Kate and Sir Ben Ainslie

First off: the matters of great importance. The dress is Jaeger, which is a high street store in the UK which is....I'm not quite sure of the US equivalent, but I know one of Fug Nation will be able to draw the comparison. This dude is a big deal yacht dude (a technical yachting term); per his Wikipedia, he is "the most successful sailor in Olympic history, \[winning\] medals at five consecutive Olympics from 1996-2012, including gold at the last four." OH IS THAT ALL. Well, good luck to you two with this endeavor, but I must needs root for my own country of origin in this one. USA USA etc.

## Kate, A Trophy, Ben

I love a trophy that comes with such a chic carrying case. I also like this dress -- it's very appropriate and [apparently, it was also on sale (and is now sold out, at least momentarily).](https://www.jaeger.co.uk/Crepe%20Dress%20with%20Navy%20Trim/630232H,en%5FGB,pd.html?dwvar%5F630232H%5Fcolor=89600&dwvar%5F630232H%5Fsize=6&start=93&cgid=women-dresses&WT.mc%5Fid=AW09~Affiliates~link&utm%5Fmedium=affiliate&utm%5Fsource=linkshare&utm%5Fcampaign=0RpXOIXA500)

I figured, given Sir Ben's Olympic Skillz, and Kate's Affection for The Olympics, that they'd met before and they totally have [AND I have photographic proof thanks to our exhaustive coverage of all things Olympic.](https://www.gofugyourself.com/olympically-played-royal-family-08-2012/olympics-day-10-sailing-2?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io) That post also helpfully reminded me that Harry is obsessed with Usain Bolt.

## Kate at The National Maritime Museum

I might have just included this photo because I wanted to get a closer up look at that trophy. It's a VERY pretty trophy. I can only hope that whomever wins it traditionally fills it with champagne and then pours it all over the heads of his or her team.

## Kate, Yachting Fundraiser Dudes

![Kate-Middleton-Launches-Americas-Cup-at-the-National-Maritime-Museum (1)](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/kate-middleton-americans-cup-450373110_10.xml)

"And then I was like, [nice try, William, but I'm going to kick your ass. And then I did. TWICE.](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/well-played-kate-wills-and-georges-royal-tour-of-australia-and-new-zealand-day-five-04-2014/) Hey, do you guys need someone else for your crew? I could probably talk the Queen into it as long as I floated the idea while she was busy polishing her tiaras and not really listening to me. It'd be GREAT PR, don't you think? Well, get back to me."

## Entry Level Cartier

A shout-out to the Entry Level Cartier.

## Simon Le Bon

![Kate-Middleton-Launches-Americas-Cup-at-the-National-Maritime-Museum (6)](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/simon-le-bon-450368436_10.xml)

And a round of applause for Simon Le Bon, [who JUST WORE this jacket last week](https://www.gofugyourself.com/fugs-and-fabs-the-royal-academy-of-arts-summer-exhibition-opening-06-2014/yasmin-and-simon-lebon-attend-the-the-royal-academy-of-arts-summer-exhibition-in-london?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io), but who has this time paired it VERY SMARTLY with seersucker pants. I am totally starting a new site and calling it Go Simon Le Bon Yourself.

[Well Played, Kate Middleton in Jaeger at an America’s Cup Event at the National Maritime MuseumWilliam's off hobnobbing with Becks, and Kate's off having breakfast with handsome yachters and posing with enormous trophies that have their own Louis Vuitton luggage. How was your morning? America's Cup is a yachting race -- Wikipedia, keepers of all great and unassailable truths, tells me it is the "oldest international sporting trophy" -- between, uh, two yachts. And like all things that have a long Wikipedia entry, it's actually totally secretly fascinating and also seemingly somewhat complicated. Basically, the America (spoiler: an American yacht) beat the Royal Squadron Yacht in a race back in the day of Victoria, and got this giant trophy and henceforth, other yachts can CHALLENGE for the trophy and if they win, they get it. The United States had the trophy from 1857 until 1983, when the Australians won it (god, the American team must have come back from that race very dismayed and quite in trouble with the American Yachting Community, which I'm sure is a thing) and the whole thing is actually really interesting. There are legal battles! Ted Turner got involved at one point! Ted Turner sailed the freaking yacht at one point! People try to disqualify people! Yacht teams throw MASSIVE SHADE onto other yacht teams! Teams are challenging other teams and side-eying the legality of their ship construction! It seems VERY dramatic, and also at certain points, the entire Wiki entry turns into yachting-ese that I barely even understand! ANYWAY, this event is because yachting is crazy expensive and Great Britain is getting their ducks in a row to challenge for the next race in 2017\. I think. But I do know two things for sure: that this dress is mad nautical and also Simon Le Bon was there. (PS: She also went to the Buckingham Palace Garden Party today, but I'll cover it later. I'm just waiting for the photos to trickle in. I HAVE NOT FORSAKEN THE GARDEN PARTY.) \[Photos: Getty\]![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/kate-middleton-jaeger-450371024_10.xml)](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/well-played-kate-middleton-in-jaeger-at-an-americas-cup-event-at-the-national-maritime-museum-06-2014/)
