Amy Poehler

Amy looks great. It's funny, I caught part of Wet Hot American Summer recently, and remembering that and her SNL days, I actually think she looks better now than ever -- something about age and motherhood and whatnot has all combined to make her EXACTLY right. She's like Julianna Margulies to me: Always good, but never better than now.

Daphne Zuniga

She may look better now than she did in Spaceballs, much less Melrose Place. Way to age, Daphne.

Sarah Silverman

This is one of the few times Sarah Silverman's clothes have not made me want to stab my own hand with a pencil. It's pretty, AND y'all know I do love some big hair. Despite my regular complaints about her clothes, I do have to give her credit, for telling a story on Fashion Police a while ago about helping design a dress for the Emmys that turned out so awful that Badgley Mischka took their names off of it. She said she told the tailor that this was good news because now she could tell everyone that HE was responsible, and that he went pale and looked queasy. It was this dress, I believe, and... it is indeed awful, and this is not. The end.

Cloris Leachman

I love her. That is all.

Amy Yasbeck

This just makes me laugh. I love a redhead in green, and I find it deeply entertaining that her gown had butterfly wings hiding back there someplace. It's just crazy enough to work on a night honoring Mel Brooks, because it's whimsical and weird and interesting, just like he is.

Well Played, Ladies at the AFI Mel Brooks Tribute
It's nice that people really turned it out at the Mel Brooks celebration -- I can rattle off so many of his movies by heart, and he deserves all the fab and none of the fug. However, seeing a small collection of ladies Mel has worked with over the years (Poehler excepted, I think, right, which is a damn shame) made me miss Madeline Kahn so much. She was everything.
