I keep imagining that this is a snapshot of moment from a fanfic wherein Lady Edith somehow trips over a dog and falls into a wormhole out in an abandoned field at Downton and winds us traveling through space and time, only to land in another creative property, wherein she and *Gone Girl*'s Amy Dunne strike up a friendship that's based primarily on Amy enacting brutal revenge on anyone Edith feels has thwarted her.

The last act of said fanfic would focus -- obviously -- on the epic revenge duel between Amy and Lady Mary and I must confess that I feel like Mary comes out of that one ahead. But just barely. Obviously, everyone wears cute patterned dresses throughout, but that's just a bonus.
