Lena Dunham

This is actually rather successful, no? It's Rochas, and I think it works on her. Obviously, I like anything with a sparkle and I think her whole face/hair situation is really good at the moment (her makeup is generally often really good; whoever she's got on her glam squad is aces). I might KIND of wish there was something belt-y happening, and I maybe would not have matched the shoes so much -- I am so over everyone's shoes matching everything like we're all bridesmaids in some deeply expensive wedding -- but overall: Well played, Lena.

Lena Dunham

I know she's just popping into see Letterman -- SANS LETTERMAN DUMPSTER, which is not how I wanted to start 2014, if I may be honest -- but this is one of my favorite outfits Lena Dunham has worn. That length is tough to pull off, but she looks totally cool and relaxed and gorgeous in this. I think we all have fantasies of strolling around the city looking effortlessly glam and lovely and street-style-y, but then when we duck into a shop and catch a reflection of ourselves in the mirror, we realize we actually look unshowered and mildly deranged. Not so here.

Lena also sported a white suit on GMA -- she is really making the rounds for this week's Girls premiere -- and while I appreciate the effort, what I really love is her facial expression. I seriously just want to know what they're talking about. Because this expression says, " NO WAY. You are KIDDING me. I am SHOCKED by this DELICIOUS GOSSIP," and that's conversation I always want to horn in on.

Well Played, Lena Dunham
Let's check in with Lena Dunham, shall we? I know that toward the end of last year, she mentioned at an event at Carnegie Hall, that she likes to read terrible things people say about her online and noted that we specifically never like anything she wears. The stickler for accuracy in me would like to note that's not STRICTLY true -- I have definitely liked things she's worn in the past. The tiny kind-hearted person who lives WAYYYYYY down deep inside my black and molting heart would like to tell her to stop doing that to herself because it seems unpleasant. And the me who is writing this entry would like to note that, in fact, I quite like a lot of what she has worn recently. LET'S TAKE A LOOK. [Photos: Getty, Splash]
