It says a lot about her arm sling that Mariah is cleaving out of a lace-up dress AND has a glitter microphone, and yet I'm studying her arm, wondering if somewhere Big Bird is dreaming of wedding bells and a registry at PetSmart.

This is also such a gentle, subtle touch. It looks like she's waiting to pull an item out of it, like a magic trick, or a rifle. And indeed, she DID have something up this sleece...

... and that item is ANOTHER SLEEVE.(Well, fine, it's a bejewelled cast, but I like better the idea of her having a sleeve up her sleeve.) She double-bagged it. This whole thing is like an elegant/campy strip-tease for sleeve fetishists, and of course, a big Up Yours to the elbow lovers of the world, who left with nothing.

[Well Played, Mariah CareyApparently Mariah hurt her shoulder sometime between the BET Awards and now, and has coped with this setback by turning it into an accessory. Like a boss. \[Photos: Getty\]![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/173420723.xml)](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/well-played-mariah-carey-07-2013/)
