Michelle Obama

This camera angle from slightly above makes her hair look like it obscures more of her face than I suspect it did in person. The rose-gold color of the dress -- not a color I usually appreciate -- looks marvelous on her. She's hanging back here for POTUS's photo ops, but they stood together and smiled quite warmly at each other for most of their time outside.

FLOTUS

Utter dishy perfection. It cannot have been easy, this road, but she walked it well and with dignity and occasionally in some REALLY FREAKING FANTASTIC clothes.

FLOTUS

A close-up of the material. It flirted so nicely with the camera flashes.

Agnese Landini, FLOTUS, Matteo Renzi, POTUS

Agnese's dress could use a hoik, but otherwise everyone looks nice. This photo makes me think we should be watching a slow-motion video of them walking, set to the Melrose Place theme song. It's West Wing Place. Barack is going to open a REALLY good billiards bar, and Michelle can start her own fashion line, the difference being SHE will pronounce "design" correctly AHEM JANE MANCINI.

FLOTUS and POTUS

"Boo. Our last date night."

FLOTUS and POTUS

"I don't know, Barack, my schedule looks WIDE open around about mid January. Tahiti, perhaps?"

POTUS

"One last time.... relax, have a drink with me one last time... we're gonna teach them how to say goodbye, say goodbye, you and I...."

The Hamilton documentary airs on Friday, and they'd BETTER show the footage of Chris Jackson slaying "One Last Time" in front of the portrait of Washington in the White House, while Obama cries. I just really need to see that. Also, I need the world to watch Chris Jackson sing that song. He is... an honor to hear.

Well Played: Michelle Obama in Versace at Italian State Dinner
This is so gorgeous it almost hurts. She looks WONDERFUL. This is their last State Dinner, and apparently Mario Batali cooked, because it was for Italy and I guess that's the choice. We should be glad it wasn't Guy Fieri. This was amusing: "Tonight, we're reminded that American democracy has been graced by the touch of Italy," Obama said. "We look at the dome of the US Capitol and marvel at the touch of Brumidi. Yet some days our presidential campaigns can seem like Dante's Inferno." Tonight: The undiscovered tenth circle of hell. In the meantime, I invite you to bliss out on how Michelle looks in this dress. GOP or Dem, red state or blue, I honestly think it's undeniable that she ended on a very high note. [Photos: Getty]
