The coat is McQueen and I WANT IT TO BE MINE.

I must admit, I am love how engaged she seems in talking to the soldiers. In all the pictures from this event, she seems totally interested and friendly and NORMAL. I think a lot of older Royals come off as detached -- for lots of reasons, many of which are not their fault -- but she really does kind of seem like that incredibly well-coiffed girl who used to live down the hall from you during your junior year of college, who you really liked but never got to know that well, but then you'd run into her several years later waiting in line for the dressing rooms at Anthropologie and you'd have a long chat and then be Facebook friends and then see each other for cocktails every three or four months and be really pleased that you came back into each other's lives.

According to The Mirror, the pin is on loan from the Irish Guards. It is their emblem, and was one of the flowers in the lace of her wedding dress. I may be nerdy for thinking that's a neat detail but, if so, then NERDY I AM. Bonus points for how cute she's being with this little kid.

And double bonus points for the hat.
