I LOVE that she went so bold on the lip. I'm sure not everyone will concur on that, but it's for SURE brave, and she has the face to carry it off. I certainly won't forget it. (Also, he seems nervous. Although he's never been super smiley on red carpets; he's a LOT more relaxed in his Broadway.com videos.)

This is SO Easy, Breezy, Beautiful, CoverGirl.

And THIS is a spectacular deployment of deep, deep berry.

At first I missed that her lips are a lovely magenta shade, because her dress is so colorful. But that's great on her.

That's deep, dark red perfection.

Now I want her and Megan Hilty and Elisabeth Moss to play a trio of sisters.

I can't say the lipstick SAVED the outfit, because the dress was lackluster no matter what. But it certainly gave me something nice to say before I lowered the boom.

Tremendous. She is, by the way, on the new show from the creators of The Good Wife. It's called Brain Dead and it's set in DC, with a somewhat on-the-nose premise of politicians being zombie-adjacent (at the very least, they consume brains). I am... EXTREMELY CURIOUS whether they can pull that off.

This looks like a set of Mini Babybel wax lips, and yet I sort of LOVE that effect.

She could have gone pink or red, and I think red was the right call.

This is a great toned-town, almost coral-toned red -- a perfect pick with the gown.

It would have been so easy to go with plain lips here, and she was SO RIGHT not to do it.

Another gorgeous color that's natural but striking.

Another one who gave her lips a little warmth without going into full red.

Her entire face here is perfect. All the makeup is exactly what it should be. This ought to be on every wedding Pinterest board in the universe.
