Well. Applause, Stella. I didn't think you had it in you. She looks flawless: great color, great fit, great accessories, great DNA.

Y'all know I am unlikely to resist all this sparkle. I also think she was correct to keep the jewelry confined to rings and earrings, because a bracelet jangling around on her wrist might've been over the top. Questions: Do we think a less lined eye and a redder lip would have been better, or are you okay with Smoky Cat Eye and a pale mouth? Also: I can't tell if this is patchy sequins or clear/silvery ones mixed in with gold. In some lights it gives this a threadbare look. But still. It ALSO gives it bonus texture.

I don't think I mind the belt detail going all the way around, but the ribbon holding the top together looks less sexy than makeshift.

It's amusing to me that at one event, we have a woman in a light-seeming orange gown, and one in green velvet. Having said that: I think Monica looks lovely in this, although the potentially clunky shoes under there aren't lighting my fire. I also think she is suffering from bangs that aren't terribly chic on her. Like, I almost want to see this with her hair parted to the side and in a proper Old Hollywood 'do, with the bangs swept away. I don't think fringe is her particular flavor of jam.

Someone yesterday said they saw hints of Brenda Walsh in her, and now I can sort of see that. Subtly. But the longer I look at her, the more I find truth in that.

She is apparently ALSO a Bond Girl in this -- which could mean anything from Very Important to Makes Out With Him Once And Then Disappears Or Dies. Welcome to the party, Stephanie. As Marchesas go, this has some pretty elements, but the bodice looks more like a decorative wreath you would send someone who just baptized their child.

And then Joan Collins showed up. ALL HAIL.
