This isn't a neckline you see that often on cocktail dresses these days -- it's very Grace Kelly to me. I don't know if I am in love with the dress, exactly, but I do appreciate that she tried something different.

AND THEN. Empirically, I actually like this dress. It might be great on somebody else. But I don't think it's right for her body, and I don't think it fits her particularly well. MORE alarming for me, though, are her two black eyes. She looks like I imagine Batman does right after he's finished slathering on all his ocular greasepaint, but before he pulls the rubber mask on over his head.

Troublingly, all that slap makes her look less Benson and more Momsen, which hopefully is not the desired effect. Ashley is REALLY good on Pretty Little Liars -- very natural, good with the comedy -- so it's a shame that at her big film festival debut, her makeup is rendering her unrecognizable. Restraint: It's what's for dinner.
