# Well Played, Leighton Meester

Oh, Leighton. There are times [when I berate you](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/2010/11/leighton111710.html#more), and then times I want to BE you.

If I had anywhere to go in this dress -- anywhere people would not point and laugh at the @&^%ty-something girl wandering around in eveningwear with her shopping cart buying frozen calzones -- I would don it in a second. It's so cute, so flattering, so perfectly ladylike yet not the least bit staid. And the shoes cap it off beautifully:

They kind of look a bit like alien currency, as if these were souvenirs made by the next galaxy's equivalent of the Franklin Mint. Yet somehow they don't distract from the dress; they just offer you something else fun to look at, and are a great touch of whimsy just to make sure we all know

 still lurks under there somewhere.
