This is lovely on her.

Jessica was at a Jazz at Lincoln Center event in this, and so I'm guessing she was trying to be on-theme by wearing something with a Jazz Age bent. That skirt with another top cold have been truly enviable. But a mesh tank is so misguided for a red-carpet besieged by flashbulbs. It's one thing on a runway, where anything goes and nothing NEEDS to make sense or be practical, but it's the type of detail you'd expect to get fixed for a real-world application. Most people would line the top, and I would've assumed the great Jessica Chastain -- who generally is more glam than GOTCHA! -- would've nipped that in the bud rather than take a photo where her shapewear, of all things, pulls focus from her skirt.

I'm not always one for cutouts, but that is surprisingly cute. I think the cut and the seaming are so flattering that it stops me minding what her shoulders are doing.
