# What the Fug: Mandy Moore in Prabal Gurung at the Emmys

Can we just pretend that this is all that happened to Mandy Moore at the Emmys?

Because this is so sunny and wonderful. It is a happy place. And then you see the rest of the dress -- specifically what it did on TV -- and your heart sinks.

Well, we at GFY are in the business of sinking hearts, I suppose. So get ready.

Let us handle it with a haiku: It would have been fine / if it were lined, but that's not // how fashion rolls now.

And Mandy seemed uneasy about it, because right when she walked out, she started yanking at the ruffle before realizing that there was nothing she could do.

It's a shame, because this otherwise evokes [Michelle Williams at the 2006 Oscars](https://www.whatgoesaroundnyc.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/michellewilliamsoscars2006verawang.jpg?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io). I just increasingly feel like see-through skirts are where designers go when they're really, really tired. So WAKE UP, PRABAL.
