The Met Gala 2017 - Arrivals Featuring: Madonna Where: New York, United States When: 01 May 2017 Credit: WENN.com

At the end of the day, under all the trappings, this is a stretchy corset dress. It's the same style she always wears. This is sameness in disguise.

I also think Madonna must hate her neck and hands, and that's why she loads up on necklaces and gloves. (The neck and hands are, coincidentally, plcaes that tend to show age even when you've tried to defy it elsewhere. I don't say that in judgment, either. I have super old hands.) Anyway, that's a view of the dress with the purse. She tended to hide it behind her in a lot of the pics.

The posing is making this very awkward. I wish Madonna had just walked in and been like, "I'm Madonna, f*ckers. I don't have to court your flashbulbs like I'm Jessica Simpson." But, whatever. I don't get to decide how Madonna does Madonna.

This just made me laugh. I hope my birthday twin here is the kind of person who would make THIS a piano picture.

"Damn STRAIGHT I will fluff your train. YOU ARE MADONNA." I think anyone in the world would consent to being her train-wrangler, honestly. For the story, if nothing else.

This is so you can see the attention to detail put into her manicure, but also, we should get to complain about her grill. It's SO AWFUL. It's not even GLITZY. IT'S JUST ROTTEN.

I read something that said the canteen contained rosé. So please look at this knowing she is chugging chilled summer wine. I do not know how a person does that.

And again, the grill. THE GRILL. It makes her look like a toothless crone. MADONNA. YOU ARE NOT.

What To Say About Madonna's Moschino...
... other than, "Sigh."
