You guys know how I feel about patterns on an evening gown, and I LOVE this one. She takes a lot of fashion risks, and this one really paid off. For me, she might have been the best of the night.

I like this, too -- is that crazy? It's pleasantly retro but not totally loony tunes.

I like her A LOT and the beading on this is amazing, but this seems a little naked for the event, not that the WHCD is all that Serious and Proper. (I also knew I would be writing this exact post when I saw her tweet, before said event, "What is better: nipples, or obvious nipple covers? The answer is nipples. I'm moving to Europe." So maybe...thanks for making my job easier and allowing me to work in advance? Sure, we'll go with that!)

Her facial expression here says, "I might regret this."

I think she looks great, frankly. How did she do as a host? It seems like a VERY nerve-wrackin gig.

This IS a very pale blue, right? Regardless, she looks quite stunning, I think. Very princess-y but not overwhelming

Sure. Great color, very elegant.
Also, she must have had a really terrible weekend -- not long after the dinner, she must've found out that her ex-boyfriend died on Everest after the Nepal earthquake. What wrenching news that must be. That tragedy's scope is growing exponentially by the day; here is a link to the CNN page with suggestions on various ways to help and donate to the victims and disaster relief.

And then there's Ashley. Ashley LOVES a flower in her hair. (She wore one to the Oscars in 1998) and I get it with this dress (although it also seems maybe weird for the occasion), but I think the real issue is that this particular flower in the hair is YOOOOGE. It's like a potted plant on her head. Actually, please god let us be heading in a direction where Ashley Judd is actually just pranking all the fashion critics in a VERY VERY long con, and she will eventually show up at the Emmys or something wearing a giant turban made entirely of flowers.
