I am sure Holland was not aware of how similar these two dresses are, but Jenny Packham might be giving this a bit of the old side-eye right now. I am all for approximating a red carpet look, TRUST ME, but it's unusual to see a noteworthy red carpet look approximated so closely...on another red carpet.

This is, however, a great opportunity for us to admire Kate's dress again, which is one of my favorite things she's ever worn. The back of this is SO GOOD.

I mean, Holland looks pretty enough in this, although it needs a larger belt (like the Packham has), but for me, there is just no comparison. Now that I think about it, maybe she's a just a Kate mega-fan and this is an intentional homage, in which case I hope wears a saucy hat to her next event. I am not even being snarky.

Sorry to be dipping back into the Emmys well, but eagle-eyed Fug National Esther pointed out that Holland Roden sported a dress at an Emmys post-party that looks rather similar to a fairly famous dress previously seen on the Duchess of Cambridge, and I thought you might enjoy a Sleepy Friday Compare and Contrast. And by "you," I mean Kate herself, who I assume is reading this right now whilst on vacation, muttering around a mouthful of takeaway while William tries to keep George from falling into the loch.
