I wonder how much of this was created by the flashes. There are a number of photos from this night, and the lighting is a little different in all of them, but it's see-through in every single one. It's a great argument for flash-testing your clothes. Jess and I used to joke that we were going to open a store on Melrose or something where you could take your outfit, try it on, and practice being photographed in front of bright lighting to see if you were in the clear. It's hard to imagine, with how sheer it is, that she didn't notice SOMETHING? She DID repeatedly futz with the pants, so sheerness aside, that seem to have ridden down on her constantly and she had to keep tugging at the waist.

This is Neve with her mother and brothers, and while I'm sure they're all just looking at different cameras in a sizable cluster, in isolation comes off like they're all studiously avoiding looking at her outfit and she's looking at us all, "I know, my brothers HATED IT."

This coat is so cute! Patrick looks sort of cheesy-handsome -- he always veered for me between cute and "I think I can flirt you into buying a real lemon of a used car for an absurd sum of money."

Did Denise and Neve make a pact that they'd wear ribbed black outfits? (Daphne's might be okay, but it's hard to tell because the car ride over reduced it to an accordion-pleated mess.)

Cameron is dressed as the summer intern who's trying not to stand out.

These two are reassuringly the same.

Leila, you might recognize from "Mad About You." She was also at this time the host torso for an alien explorer named Zopp who was feigning an Earth culture but really just wanted to see a bunch of movies for free.

Draped in velvet!

This is the perfect pose to make sure we understand ALL the elements of her outfit. Specifically, the wedges. Thank you for being thorough, Natasha. You are a 1998 time capsule.

For a VERY weird second I thought this was Bono.
