In case you missed it, [we also had an appearance from the Sussexes this morning](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/duchess-meghan-is-wearing-a-very-good-coat-today-11-2019/) \-- a post wherein I ran down all the stuff this family has on their docket in the next few days. Spoiler: It's a lot. Today, was "the launch of the National Emergencies Trust at St Martin-in-the-Fields," which is a lovely church right next to the National Portrait Gallery, where I assume Kate did NOT dash in to look at her portrait. (One of you let us know that[ they're closing the NPG for three years (!!!!) for some vague "redevelopment project."](https://www.tatler.com/article/national-portrait-gallery-three-year-closure?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io) This is a huge shame; it is a GREAT museum with a beautiful bar.). The National Emergencies Trust is, per KP, "an independent charity which will provide an emergency response to disasters in the UK," which sounds like a very good cause.

And, indeed, this seems like it was a meaningful visit:

> The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge met victims of disasters including the Grenfell Tower fire and Manchester Arena bombing today.

This is lovely, too:

> The Duchess appears to be wearing her Women of the First World War poppy brooch. Each brooch comes with a certificate commemorating the life of a woman who lost her life as a direct result of the First World War. ([The link to buy those poppies is this one, in case you don't feel like clicking through the tweet](https://www.poppyshop.org.uk/women-of-the-first-world-war-brooch.html?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io). I think that is such a nice idea, to commemorate those women thusly.)

Finally, you should know that this event also involved puppies. Kate's Emilia Wickstead dress is \[I think\] new, but very much in her Professional Day Dress Wheelhouse.
