This installation is totally stunning. You can imagine how many arty photographs were snapped of it today, and no wonder. It's REALLY cool looking, and also quite moving.
There were reports that Kate cried at this event -- the pictures I saw made it look as though she got teary OR that she had an allergy attack, so I cannot say -- and it does seem quite moving. I also would have cried. FEELINGS.
Sober...and PHOTOGENIC. One of the more amusing aspects of these pictures is Poor Harry, in the same tie he wore yesterday and one of his less-well-tailored suits, trailing along behind Wills and Kate looking woebegone. I am sure it's his "This Is A Serious Event And I Am Having Serious Feelings" face, but it also made me laugh a little bit. "There is no one here to high-five," he seemed to be thinking. "I'm all alone back here. Do you have any livestock with which I can gambol? What about friendly old people? I'm concerned this event isn't playing to my strengths."
HARRY: You know, if it were five hundred years ago, I'd probably already have been thrown in here.
WILLS: If it were five hundred years ago, I probably would have been the one to throw you in.
"Sooooooo, what is the protocol for locking someone in The Tower? They don't do that anymore? Are you entirely sure? No, no. Just curious. No reason. NEVER MIND."
(Kate's dress, in case you are wondering, is the same one she wore here. It's LK Bennett. As of my typing these words, it was still in stock, but I'm sure it won't be by the time this post actually goes up.)
I apologize for ending on a sincere note, but these really are gorgeous. Also, the Royal Historic Palaces YouTube Channel has a bunch of videos about the installation that are very interesting, if that is your thing. LEARNING.
