a) This was sort of a surprise event (for me! I assume Kate knew they were going to be in Belgium this weekend), and

b) If this ensemble looks familiar, it's because[ Kate wore it to Charlotte's christening](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/royally-played-princess-charlottes-christening-07-2015/), and

c) I have never liked this hat on her because it looks like a satellite dish (which is [literally what I called it the last time she wore it](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/royally-played-trooping-the-colour-2015-06-2015/)), and

d) Overall, this look does seem appropriate for the event, and I cannot BELIEVE she didn't wear beige shoes. It is true that wonders really *will* never cease.

We have lots of coverage from Kensington Palace's social media team, as well, which gave a good sense of the event. Whoever's running that account now is doing an excellent job. I think it's also worth noting that this seems like a very Senior Royal duty for these two, no?
