Britain's Catherine, Catherine Duchess of Cambridge (C) and Britain's Prince William, Prince William (R) react as they look towards the Cutty Sark, as they arrive to launch the King's Cup Regatta, at the Cutty Sark in Greenwich, south east London
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge launch The King’s Cup Regatta, London, UK - 07 May 2019
The event is set to take place on August 9, 2019, on the Isle of Wight, and is set to see The Duke and Duchess go head to head as skippers of individual sailing boats, in an eight boat regatta race. Each boat taking part will represent one of eight charities and the winning team will be awarded the historic trophy The King's Cup
First, this look on Kate is basically my platonic ideal of an outfit so....there's that. Also: I really hope the King's Cup Regatta involves a gala, so all us Olds -- and the Youngs who are obsessed with Friends, which is a thing -- can make Regatta Gala jokes.

I think I personally might have gone for a cognac shoe -- maybe -- but I enjoy this, and it's VERY on-theme. (Kate looooooves a sailor-themed outfit and event.) Also: This is primo Kate hair, it fills me with jealousy.

Something about Kate's super skinny jeans + slightly longer blazer + body language here makes her look like she's about to burst into a tap routine. I WISH SHE WOULD.
