Everyone does really seem like a weight has lifted -- including shots I've seen of Meghan in Canada lately. I'm sure they're all happy to move forward and try to figure out a new normal from here on. Also: Kate sometimes goes slightly 70s with her hair and that appears to be happening again tonight.

Obviously, this is a shocking sartorial choice from William, so surprising on him that I need to take to my bed. PROFOUNDLY different than usual and I am rocked to my core.
I love her purse; I will never sign off on everything being the same color but I realize this is my cross to bear.

Here, Kate is walking in with a person Informative Caption has told me is "Master of the Household," a job that sounds VERY logistics-y. (His name is Tony Johnstone-Burt, he's a retired Vice Admiral, and apparently this is sort of the top job at Buckingham Palace. He's like...the Head Carson.)

Kate here is greeting Fatima Maada Bio, who is married to Julius Maada Bio, the president of Sierra Leone. They were married in London and she went to university in the UK and was based in London for many years. Her dress is VERY good.

"Kate, I know we said we weren't going to match at this but I couldn't resist. He's a totally important designer."

As the sands are shifting in the royal family, it only seemed fair to give Prince Edward, whose photos I never feel inclined to purchase, a moment in the sun. And doesn't he seem pleased by it?

"Darling. You're not going to believe it. Edward got a solo shot. No, I know. This week truly has been full of ground-breaking moments."

Wills talked about their engagement a bit in this speech, which is sweet, but mostly I pulled this photo because this room is very dramatic. (It's on the Buckingham Palace tour, which I recommend if you find yourself in London. We've also set at least one scene in the new book in it because it's a dramatic place to have a conversation.)

"No, I am NOT going to get sucked into gossiping about Trump with you again, BoJo, so don't even try it."

Everyone does seem like they've gone FULL CHATTY at this event but mostly I pulled this photo so we can discuss something truly vital to the future of monachy: Do we think Kate went and got quasi-bangs again? (My theory is that, in a wine-fueled stress spiral over her what her husband and brother-in-law were saying to each other in the closed-doors convo in which they allegedly mended fences, she locked herself in the bathroom and distracted herself from wondering what was going on by cutting her own bangs again.)
