My feeling about this dress is that it is a bit dated but ultimately...fine? There is nothing Kate loves more than a pastel McQueen coatdress and I find it sort of boring but also how many times can I note that I find it sort of boring before being bored by it is ALSO boring? It's VERY appropriate. (Obviously, I long for a patterned shoe. I am FILLED WITH LONGING for one. But I also long for Joshua Jackson to come over and help me get things down off of high shelves and that's not happening either.)

It also fits her beautifully -- I do think it's more striking when she's standing still than in motion, because you can admire the pleats.
