This is not a great pic for details, because it's so blown out, but I just enjoyed how pleased Kate looks to be there, and I can only assue it's because she's got a lot of notes for Olivia Colman to carry back to the cast of *The Crown* and she's excited to relay them.

This dress is VERY pretty -- rumor has it, as I type this, that is is custom McQueen. (Rumor also has it that it's t[he same dress she wore to Charles's Big Birthday Bash, but in a different color](../there-was-a-big-party-at-buckingham-palace-for-prince-charless-70th-birthday-11-2018), but given that we've seen literally one square inch of that other dress, I feel like it's hard to say one way or the other. For all we know, the skirt of that frock is totally sheer and embroidered with the words SAMANTHA MARKLE IS A WEENIE.)

This dress is really lovely in motion -- it's great on her, and I pulled a lot of photos of it. But what I really want to say here is LOOK AT THAT SHOE. LOOK AT IT. I feel like a proud parent. Somewhere in the Netherlands, Queen Maxima sheds one small, happy tear.

I say this literally every time he wears this tux and eventually I will stop doing that, because I'll get bored of my own yammerings, but I wish Wills would wear either a vest or a cummerbund with this tux because he always looks slightly half-assed in it. Like...not totally half-assed, but neither does he look fully-assed. He's quarter-assed.

"William, did we turn off the deep fryer?"

"I can't remember and also there might still be a dozen corn dogs in there."

[Kate's BAFTAs Dress Is Great BUT LOOK AT HER SHOES!I'm pleased.![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/bf/b9/bfb99790-924d-4e41-a7e6-5e3c6e04fe57/content/images/static-gofugyourself-com/uploads/2019/02/wenn35990105-1549827272.jpg)](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/kates-baftas-dress-is-great-but-look-at-her-shoes-02-2019/)
