I am writing a truly ginormous post right now, in honor of the fifth wedding anniversary of these two, which is basically my long-threatened Post of People Just Gazing at Each Other. Remind me to put this in there. (And, indeed, who DOESN'T lovingly gaze at one's beloved before heading off on safari? Well, I guess, a couple who had a big fight over the coffee or something, but in general, one ought to be peppy and loved-up, pre-safari.) I also enjoy that Wills brought a themed hat to protect his tender scalp from the sun.

Kate's shirt is RM Williams, which is an Australian brand, and the pants (which I quite like; that's a motorcycle pant detail on the knee, not wrinkles) are Zara. My unconfirmed assumption is that she's had both of these kicking around in her closet for a while.

I'm going to let this beauty lead us into Informative Caption: "An Indian elephant flaps its ears as [Wills & Kate] prepare to leave on a safari in Kaziranga National Park." Hmm, I guess we kind of already know that. No matter, elephant. You're still beautiful.

They are loving this. I saw snaps on Twitter last night of Kate taking pics on her own big-ass camera, and how could you not? SAFARI!

Next up was a change of clothes -- I think because they're visiting a village, and meeting lots of people, there and elsewhere, so wanted to look a bit less I Was Just In the Back of a Jeep -- and a trip to the Centre for Wildlife Rehabilitation and Conservation (CWRC), which seems like a fascinating place that does just what it says in the name. You should totally click through that link to their website; it's totally interesting. It also has an extensive and fascinating piece all about what W&K got up to today, which I recommend. They ALSO popped over to the Kaziranga Discovery Centre, which is all about elephants, and which was founded by Camilla's brother (who died last year, as you may remember). From what I can tell, all these places are rather in the same area. This dress is, to me, cute but not noteworthily so? (I mean, it is TopShop. That seems about correct for TopShop. Much as I love it.)

Blah blah blah, enough about logistics. Let's get to the feeding of baby animals! Kate is having the best time doing this. (She may also be admiring her husband's butt, here; I don't know her life.) Reports from the field indicate that both of them basically said they wanted to move in with the baby animals.

I feel like my internal monologue writing this piece is, "OMG BABY ELEPHANTS," so I cannot imagine what it feels like to actually be feeding one.

This is a baby rhino, which -- sources say -- Kate was very attached to. I'm sure she can take it home, right? A Rhino In England would be very...huh. Good point: confused and also cold. Yes, best to leave it here.

But how could you NOT get attached to a baby orphan rhino? It's so cute. And also eventually potentially deadly, which, frankly, is my favorite combination.

Honestly, I'm just relieved to see that Wills packed that beloved beaded belt. (Maybe he's secretly got like 40 of them, identical, all in a row in a drawer somewhere at home.) His skinny pants are SO MUCH BETTER, that I am willing to accept that belt (which, actually, I know people hate, but I think is sort of charming).

India, I am learning, is a land of Meaningful Scarves, which is a traditional I wholly support. They are all so beautiful -- and you know how I feel about the importance of accessories. Every time I see them in one, like here, I long for a close up of the details.

This is obviously Wills's performance of "Wait For It" from Hamilton, which he's been working on perfecting for weeks.

Part of what they got up to today involved visiting a village tea garden, and then partaking thereof. Here, she looks as if she's about to spill some -- metaphorically speaking. Please, Kate, give us the gossip. What IS Harry up to?

And, of course, the day concluded with painting an elephant for the Elephant Parade. Camilla must have been touched that W&K visited something to which her brother was so devoted. PS: I also, by the way, highly recommend the BBC's article about today's events. It's VERY informative and interesting. And now, off to Bhutan! Speaking of informative and interesting...
