I do not understand why your flats are not navy blue, Kate. Why, Kate, WHY? That said, I love this dress. It's sold out now, of course, but earlier today it was on sale for just $40.* It's also perfect for this event, in that Kate can totally sit on the floor with the kids -- as you will see in the next slide -- in modesty and comfort, and also it's light and breezy, AND also protects you from getting too much sun. Heather and I went to Egypt like a million years ago and, in retrospect, I wish I had essentially worn this dress the entire time.
*NOTE: It's now up for pre-order!

Let's briefly turn to Informative Caption: "The Duchess of Cambridge during an arts class with children at a contact centre run by the charity Salaam Baalak, which provides emergency help and long term support to homeless children at New Delhi railway station, India." I love that Kate appears to be asking a question here. The cute little dude next to her was, from the other pictures I saw, VERY helpful with and interested in her drawing. I just want to hug all these kids.

After hanging out with the kids, everyone changed their clothes and went over to the Prime Minister's for lunch and pictures. This photo cracks me up, because Kate is clearly like, "I'm not in this shot, right? Just gonna scoot over here." I also really like this Temperley number -- Kate is one of the few people who can really pull off this high neck, I think, and I love the color. I am prepared for everyone to disagree with me, however. (As a nitpick, I wish it were a LITTLE shorter -- or that the pleats started higher -- but this is probably better For Propriety.)

Obviously, I want to set those shoes on fire and let them burn forever as a reminder to her to GET OVER THIS BEIGE SHOE THING YOU'RE KILLING ME CATHERINE.

This up-do, plus the cut of this dress, feels very Anne of Green Gables Adjacent to me. (Which is a compliment.)

BRAIN WAVE: The cut of this dress -- the pleats being where they are, as opposed to where I wished they would be -- makes this a VERY wise choice when climbing out of a plane. Your legs can move, so you don't topple down headlong, but if Kate's Mortal Enemy, The Demon Winds, comes for her again, it may find itself out of luck.

I thought you might want to see all the shit they have to lug with them everywhere. These are the assistant to Kate's Private Secretary, Sophie Agnew (the brunette; AKA Kate's assistant's assistant), and Kate's PA and stylist Natasha Archer. (Who is, fun fact, dating Chris Jackson, the best of Getty's royal photogs -- literally; he won a big prize this year -- who also happens to be SUPER HOT, so, way to go Natasha. Chris didn't take this picture, though, as he was getting in order for the more picturesque photographic moments coming up in three slides)

You guys know how I feel about luggage. I actually have that smaller Longchamp -- mine is navy -- that I use as a laptop bag and it's the only carry-on laptop bag I've ever been truly happy with.

I wish this was how everyone was greeted at every airport. Although I guess if you were late for a connecting flight, you might end up being like, "yeah yeah, great, moving song of welcome, thrilled to be here MOVE OVER THEY'RE GOING TO LEAVE WITHOUT ME!"

"Babykins, do you think they're going to let us keep these scarves? They're fantastic."

This dress is Anna Sui -- I never, in a million years, would have guessed Kate would wear Anna Sui -- and while I am personally not a huge fan of that brand, I actually LOVE this dress.

I wish she'd worn flat sandals, but I suspect she didn't want to get her feet dirty. If the Daily Mail is mad at you for not having painted your toes a sufficiently bright color (insert MASSIVE EYEROLL HERE), I suspect they would pass out in a tizzy if you got your tooties dusty.

Kate's dress also nicely melds with the dresses of the rest of the women in the audience, ALL of whom I'd like to see better. Informative Caption tells us this is "dancing by the fireside during a Bihu Festival Celebration," and I am obviously on the lookout for video, because it looks really neat.

I love this kid and I also love that every woman back there is clearly thinking, "I also love this kid."

"You ARE letting us keep these scarves, right? William is in a real accessories phase right now."

"Do you think they'll let us do this again tomorrow?"
