It cracks me up that William looks like he's their bodyguard back there, just standing alert in case garden-related shenanigans burst out.

His body language here is very, "GRANDMA LOOK WHAT KATE DID!" which is also very sweet/relatable, as I have for sure made that face to my own elderly grandma in my past.

It's very nice that Wills went for his nicest suit for this event. I must admit that even I, a person with a weakness for Erdem, do not care for this dress on Kate at all -- in part because I think those wedges are really wacky with it. (I would like it much better if it didn't go all the way up to the neck. Imagine it with more of a v-neck and it's much better.) But Kate LOVES a patterned Erdem prairie dress. AND a wedge.

This was earlier in the day when she showed her garden off to schoolkids. I appreciate that she looks mildly harried here. (I do like this blouse.)

This garden looks lovely -- it's very thoughtfully done, from what I can see. But I mostly chose this photo because the woman in the pink floral looks GREAT in that dress. YOU GO, GLEN COCO.

Here's my thought about these trousers -- and goodness knows, we're always talking about how Kate needs to branch out her game from jeans: if they're going to be in this linen-y fabric, I think they need to be full-length. If you're going to go wide-legged cropped, I think they work better in a stiffer fabric.

But full marks for realizing that pants were required for this one, given all the climbing and whatnot. I don't love the execution, but I appreciate the idea. I also VERY appreciate how that kid in the background appears to be thinking, "I have some notes about those trousers. I cannot wait to get home to my blog!"

It's an ALL WEDGES day for the Wessex/Cambridge crew today. I am unmoved by Sophie's pashmina, but her Suzannah dress is good. I wish Kate had worn THIS. (Kate does have several dresses just like it, after all, including one by the same designer.)

Sophie seems like a good sport. (Edward was also there. Once again, I chose not to spend my photo budget on Edward. He looks like Edward. If it brings him comfort, Prince Andrew ALSO attended and I ALSO snubbed HIM. He looked like himself as well.)
