Serena

Editorial Use Only Mandatory Credit: Photo by AELTC/Shutterstock (12189895bn) Serena Williams (USA) walks onto Centre Court for her match against Aliaksandra Sasnovich (BLR) in the first round of the Ladies' Singles at The Championships 2021 Wimbledon Tennis Championships, Day 2, The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, London, UK - 29 Jun 2021

Serena walking out with a freaking TRAIN, like a QUEEN, is just great. That stuff works pretty damn well for building up the mystique. This whole photo is so regal.

It loses a little something without the train. Now it just feels like a refried tutu.

Venus

Mandatory Credit: Photo by Shutterstock (12190134dv) Venus Williams after defeat in her second round match Wimbledon Tennis Championships, Day 3, The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, London, UK - 30 Jun 2021

Venus designs her own stuff, and this was kind of a comedown from the Wonder Woman kit.

Andy Murray

I am VERY glad to see Sir Andrew back in action, and I quite like his logo, even if "AMC" is an acronym taken already in the US by a movie chain. But I REALLY like the collar situation here. Honestly, I'm all for a push toward poncey tennis knits, like sweatervests.

Sir Andrew might have pulled a groin, which means we have several photos of him writhing around on the ground grabbing himself in an awkward place. He rallied to win the match in five sets. I hope he's okay.

Dan Evans

Mandatory Credit: Photo by Javier Garcia/BPI/Shutterstock (12189891dz) Dan Evans celebrates breaking serve during his second round match Wimbledon Tennis Championships, Day 3, The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, London, UK - 30 Jun 2021

Dan here is just pleased that he got on the collar train.

Nick Kyrgios

Mandatory Credit: Photo by Shutterstock (12190134gn) Australia's Nick Kyrios takes a tumble Wimbledon Tennis Championships, Day 3, The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, London, UK - 30 Jun 2021

As I noted, there have been a LOT of tumbles. Although you know I've been watching a lot of soccer lately when I saw this photo and thought, "Oh, get up, you're fine," forgetting that in tennis they don't typically writhe around just for show.

Roger Federer

Mandatory Credit: Photo by Shutterstock (12191444dc) Roger Federer celebrates victory in his second round match Wimbledon Tennis Championships, Day 4, The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, London, UK - 01 Jul 2021

MY BELOVED. I see that RF logo hanging out there subtly on the side. I'm glad he's bringing it back, but the color choice is very random. I do enjoy that his shirt is trying to be something even at a tournament where white is the dictate.

Kei Nishikori

Kei got the plain version.

Djoker

Mandatory Credit: Photo by Javier Garcia/BPI/Shutterstock (12189891e) Novak Djokovic during his second round match Wimbledon Tennis Championships, Day 3, The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, London, UK - 30 Jun 2021

This is all fine and expected.

Mandatory Credit: Photo by Javier Garcia/BPI/Shutterstock (12189891h) Novak Djokovic slips during his second round match Wimbledon Tennis Championships, Day 3, The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, London, UK - 30 Jun 2021

I may not like him, but he DOES yield a lot of very dramatic pictures.

Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova

Mandatory Credit: Photo by Alastair Grant/AP/Shutterstock (12190111co) Russia's Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova plays a return to Romania's Ana Bogdan during the women's singles first round match on day three of the Wimbledon Tennis Championships in London Wimbledon Tennis, London, United Kingdom - 30 Jun 2021

I am not into the other logo here being slapped directly between her boobs.

Angelique Kerber

Editorial Use Only Mandatory Credit: Photo by AELTC/Shutterstock (12189895an) Angelique Kerber (GER) reaches for the ball in the match against Nina Stojanovic (SRB) in the first round of the Ladies' Singles on No.1 Court at The Championships 2021 Wimbledon Tennis Championships, Day 2, The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, London, UK - 29 Jun 2021

The logo stack works a little bit better.

Kaya Juvan

Here's the solo version. I like the idea but I wonder if that neck would feel awfully high and tight.

Jelena Ostapenko

Mandatory Credit: Photo by Javier Garcia/BPI/Shutterstock (12189891fr) Jelena Ostapenko during her first round match Wimbledon Tennis Championships, Day 3, The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, London, UK - 30 Jun 2021

Overall... this is functional but also feels like Adidas didn't try that hard. Therefore I'm not going to try that hard to remember they don't capitalize the A.

Elina Svitolina

Mandatory Credit: Photo by Shutterstock (12190134l) Elina Svitolina celebrates during her first round match Wimbledon Tennis Championships, Day 3, The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, London, UK - 30 Jun 2021

There's an extra flap hanging around her midsection here, right? I'm not hallucinating that?

Marta Vondrousova

Mandatory Credit: Photo by Shutterstock (12190133bt) Marta Vondrousova of Czech Republic in action Wimbledon Tennis Championships, Day 3, The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, London, UK - 30 Jun 2021

The flapless version is better.

Sloane Stephens

And then Sloane's seems to have a sheer band in the middle. Like a demi-cummerbund.

Jo Wilfried Tsonga

Mandatory Credit: Photo by Shutterstock (12190133cn) Jo Wilfried Tsonga of France in action Wimbledon Tennis Championships, Day 3, The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, London, UK - 30 Jun 2021

I like Jo Willie. I hope he's one of the good ones. The subtle red piping here on the sleeve is nice.

Tereza Martincova

Mandatory Credit: Photo by Rob Prange/Shutterstock (12189892gl) Tereza Martincova of the Czech Republic in action during the second round of the 2021 Wimbledon Championships Grand Slam tennis tournament Wimbledon Tennis Championships, Day 3, The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, London, UK - 30 Jun 2021

We also don't typically see a lot of heavily tattooed players, so this was an awesome surprise. And I like her blue piping. EVERYONE is flouting the all-white with some piping!

Aliona Bolsova

Mandatory Credit: Photo by Rob Prange/Shutterstock (12189892n) Aliona Bolsova of Spain in action during the first round of the 2021 Wimbledon Championships Grand Slam tennis tournament Wimbledon Tennis Championships, Day 3, The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, London, UK - 30 Jun 2021

And with hair dye. I hope that's the next one -- everyone shows up with different color hair but ONLY at Wimbo. And more tats! She even rolled up her sleeve so the lion/tiger/I don't know my felines (it doesn't have a mane but neither do female lions, so?) could watch the match.

Maria Sakkari

Mandatory Credit: Photo by Rob Prange/Shutterstock (12189892hl) Maria Sakkari of Greece in action during the second round of the 2021 Wimbledon Championships Grand Slam tennis tournament Wimbledon Tennis Championships, Day 3, The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, London, UK - 30 Jun 2021

I assume that has a solid built-in sports bra? I actually quite like the neckline.

Oscar Otte

Mandatory Credit: Photo by Javier Garcia/BPI/Shutterstock (12189891mk) Oscar Otte pretends to a cigarette after slipping over during his second round match Wimbledon Tennis Championships, Day 3, The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, London, UK - 30 Jun 2021

The caption said he is "pretending to smoke a cigarette" after slipping, and I certainly think he is pretending to smoke SOMETHING.

Mihaela Buzarnescu

Mandatory Credit: Photo by FACUNDO ARRIZABALAGA/EPA-EFE/Shutterstock (12182320q) Mihaela Buzarnescu of Romania in action against Venus Williams of the USA during their 1st round match at the Wimbledon Championships, Wimbledon, Britain 29 June 2021. Wimbledon Championships 2021, United Kingdom - 29 Jun 2021

A shower of pearls on her shoulder was UNEXPECTED.

Coco Gauff

Mandatory Credit: Photo by Javier Garcia/BPI/Shutterstock (12173633ql) Coco Gauff during her first round match Wimbledon Tennis Championships, Day 2, The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, London, UK - 29 Jun 2021

This is so dramatic that it almost looks like a pose or a dance move. I can hear 'FREEZE FRAME' being yelled in my head.

Mandatory Credit: Photo by Javier Garcia/BPI/Shutterstock (12173633km) Coco Gauff during her first round match Wimbledon Tennis Championships, Day 2, The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, London, UK - 29 Jun 2021

Here she looks balletic.

Frances Tiafoe

No party like a Tiafoe dance partyyyyyy.

Zhang Zhizhen

Mandatory Credit: Photo by Javier Garcia/BPI/Shutterstock (12173633j) Zhang Zhizhen during his first round match. Zhang is the first Chinese man in the Open Era to qualify for the main draw at Wimbledon Wimbledon Tennis Championships, Day 2, The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, London, UK - 29 Jun 2021

He is extremely cute and I appreciate the dudes who are trying out sweatbands.

Ash Barty

Mandatory Credit: Photo by Javier Garcia/BPI/Shutterstock (12173633df) Ashleigh Barty celebrates breaking serve during her first round match Wimbledon Tennis Championships, Day 2, The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, London, UK - 29 Jun 2021

Can Brie Larson play her in The Ash Barty Story? (Edited to note that Ashleigh Barty is Indigenous Australian, so Brie Larson would actually not be good or appropriate casting. Thanks to everyone for the heads-up on that!)

Ons Jabeur

Mandatory Credit: Photo by Rob Prange/Shutterstock (12173634ck) Ons Jabeur of Tunisia in action during the first round of the 2021 Wimbledon Championships Grand Slam tennis tournament Wimbledon Tennis Championships, Day 2, The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, London, UK - 29 Jun 2021

Ons Jabeur will also be a character in that movie, because we will manufacture a gripping rivalry, with highs, lows, love and hate, and ultimate grudging respect. Like Days of Thunder but for tennis.
