Reilly and Quincy Isaiah ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/bf/b9/bfb99790-924d-4e41-a7e6-5e3c6e04fe57/content/images/static-gofugyourself-com/uploads/2022/03/shutterstock_editorial_12830276br-1646288678.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Stewart Cook/Shutterstock (12830276br) John C. Reilly and Quincy Isaiah 'Winning Time - The Rise of The Lakers Dynasty' HBO Series premiere, Los Angeles, California, USA 02 Mar 2022 I'm opening with two of my favorite things: Charisma and DRAMA. First, charisma: Quincy Isaiah is OBVIOUSLY playing Magic Johnson -- look at his smile! This is one of his first roles, and that part had to have been so challenging to cast. Magic is one of the most charismatic people alive. As for the DRAMA, JCR is playing Lakers owner Jerry Buss, a part which was originally meant to be Michael Shannon, but he hated the bits in the script where he had to break the 4th wall and quit. Will Ferrell wanted his business and creative partner Adam McKay, who is the show's EP, to cast him in the role, but McKay cast Reilly without telling Will and now Will and Adam are broken up. (a) I don't know that I think Will Ferrell is right for this part but (b) give your friend the heads up! ## Solomon Hughes ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2022/03/shutterstock_editorial_12830276r-1646288830.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Stewart Cook/Shutterstock (12830276r) Solomon Hughes 'Winning Time - The Rise of The Lakers Dynasty' HBO Series premiere, Los Angeles, California, USA 02 Mar 2022 He looks super sharp and he's OBVIOUSLY playing Kareem. (I remember when I went to UCLA on my college tour, my mom and I had lunch in the old Hamburger Hamlet in Westwood, and we were seated right across from Kareem, who was eating shrimp cocktail in the middle of the day. This was obviously one of the most glamorous things I had EVER seen.) ## Adrien Brody ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2022/03/shutterstock_editorial_12830276ac-1646288618.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Stewart Cook/Shutterstock (12830276ac) Adrien Brody 'Winning Time - The Rise of The Lakers Dynasty' HBO Series premiere, Los Angeles, California, USA 02 Mar 2022 He looks sharp. He is going to look VERY much like Pat Riley once they slick the hair back. ## Edwin Hodge ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2022/03/shutterstock_editorial_12830276ai-1646288626.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Stewart Cook/Shutterstock (12830276ai) Edwin Hodge 'Winning Time - The Rise of The Lakers Dynasty' HBO Series premiere, Los Angeles, California, USA 02 Mar 2022 This is snazzy. He's playing Ron Boone, who is before my time, but who you Utah Jazz fans know and love as your current color commentator. ## Rob Morgan ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2022/03/shutterstock_editorial_12830276av-1646288635.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Stewart Cook/Shutterstock (12830276av) Rob Morgan 'Winning Time - The Rise of The Lakers Dynasty' HBO Series premiere, Los Angeles, California, USA 02 Mar 2022 Rob Morgan ALWAYS looks sharp. (I am currently about to finish my rewatch of *Lost*, in which Brett Cullen really went through it. Although...no one on that island had a great time.) ## Sally Field ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2022/03/shutterstock_editorial_12830276bi-1646288661.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Stewart Cook/Shutterstock (12830276bi) Sally Field 'Winning Time - The Rise of The Lakers Dynasty' HBO Series premiere, Los Angeles, California, USA 02 Mar 2022 Sally Field looks comfortingly like Sally Field! I feel confident this is all cashmere. (I assume the color story is supportive of Ukraine.) ## Hadley Robinson ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2022/03/shutterstock_editorial_12830276bk-1646288669.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Stewart Cook/Shutterstock (12830276bk) Hadley Robinson 'Winning Time - The Rise of The Lakers Dynasty' HBO Series premiere, Los Angeles, California, USA 02 Mar 2022 She went for it! (She's playing Jeanie Buss, and I just learned that I didn't really know how old Jeanie Buss is.) I like this but maybe would have done a contrasting color for the bag? ## Sarah Ramos ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2022/03/shutterstock_editorial_12830276cg-1646288695.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Stewart Cook/Shutterstock (12830276cg) Sarah Ramos 'Winning Time - The Rise of The Lakers Dynasty' HBO Series premiere, Los Angeles, California, USA 02 Mar 2022 This is dishy! I'm never gonna wholly love a bra top, usually, and I think I wish this one were more of a tube top? This is a nitpick. This skirt is my JAM. ## Sean Patrick Small ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2022/03/shutterstock_editorial_12830276b-1646288652.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Stewart Cook/Shutterstock (12830276b) Sean Patrick Small 'Winning Time - The Rise of The Lakers Dynasty' HBO Series premiere, Los Angeles, California, USA 02 Mar 2022 He's playing Larry Bird, and I can SEE IT. ## Jimel Atkins ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2022/03/shutterstock_editorial_12830276cf-1646288686.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Stewart Cook/Shutterstock (12830276cf) Jimel Atkins 'Winning Time - The Rise of The Lakers Dynasty' HBO Series premiere, Los Angeles, California, USA 02 Mar 2022 Hello, this is suave! My personal take is that you can only wear two of those pieces at a time. (I might also want to see this with a less formal-feeling shoe?) ## Andre Royo ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2022/03/shutterstock_editorial_12830276dd-1646288732.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Stewart Cook/Shutterstock (12830276dd) Andre Royo 'Winning Time - The Rise of The Lakers Dynasty' HBO Series premiere, Los Angeles, California, USA 02 Mar 2022 This whole look says "I'm your very cool and brilliant sociology professor." ## Spencer Garrett ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2022/03/shutterstock_editorial_12830276h-1646288741.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Stewart Cook/Shutterstock (12830276h) Spencer Garrett 'Winning Time - The Rise of The Lakers Dynasty' HBO Series premiere, Los Angeles, California, USA 02 Mar 2022 He is playing iconic Lakers play-by-play announcer Chick Hearn, [whose voice I can still hear in my head](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chick%5FHearn?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io#Chickisms). He invented the term "slam dunk"! ## Michael Chiklis ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2022/03/shutterstock_editorial_12830276ct-1646288724.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Stewart Cook/Shutterstock (12830276ct) Michael Chiklis 'Winning Time - The Rise of The Lakers Dynasty' HBO Series premiere, Los Angeles, California, USA 02 Mar 2022 Wearing a Celtics shirt to this is cheeky! (And he's also playing Red Auerbach, the famous Celtics coach, so it's apt.) ## Darone Okolie ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2022/03/shutterstock_editorial_12830932bc-1646330640.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by CAROLINE BREHMAN/EPA-EFE/Shutterstock (12830932bc) US actor Darone Okolie attends the premiere of HBO's 'Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty' at The Theatre at Ace Hotel in Los Angeles, California, USA, 02 March 2022\. (His suit is good, though.) I recently saw him in person at the Huntington Library and he is real good-looking in the flesh. (He was also REALLY NICE to everyone.) ## Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2022/03/shutterstock_editorial_12831839bb-1646330668.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Kathy Hutchins/Shutterstock (12831839bb) Javier Hernandez 'Winning Time - The Rise of The Lakers Dynasty' HBO Series premiere, Los Angeles, California, USA - 02 Mar 2022 These might do double duty as jammies but they are SNAZZY jammies.
