John C. Reilly and Quincy Isaiah

I'm opening with two of my favorite things: Charisma and DRAMA. First, charisma: Quincy Isaiah is OBVIOUSLY playing Magic Johnson -- look at his smile! This is one of his first roles, and that part had to have been so challenging to cast. Magic is one of the most charismatic people alive. As for the DRAMA, JCR is playing Lakers owner Jerry Buss, a part which was originally meant to be Michael Shannon, but he hated the bits in the script where he had to break the 4th wall and quit. Will Ferrell wanted his business and creative partner Adam McKay, who is the show's EP, to cast him in the role, but McKay cast Reilly without telling Will and now Will and Adam are broken up. (a) I don't know that I think Will Ferrell is right for this part but (b) give your friend the heads up!

Solomon Hughes

He looks super sharp and he's OBVIOUSLY playing Kareem. (I remember when I went to UCLA on my college tour, my mom and I had lunch in the old Hamburger Hamlet in Westwood, and we were seated right across from Kareem, who was eating shrimp cocktail in the middle of the day. This was obviously one of the most glamorous things I had EVER seen.)

Adrien Brody

He looks sharp. He is going to look VERY much like Pat Riley once they slick the hair back.

Edwin Hodge

This is snazzy. He's playing Ron Boone, who is before my time, but who you Utah Jazz fans know and love as your current color commentator.

Rob Morgan

Rob Morgan ALWAYS looks sharp. (He's playing Magic's dad.)

Brett Cullen

Brett Cullen looks like Brett Cullen. (I am currently about to finish my rewatch of Lost, in which Brett Cullen really went through it. Although...no one on that island had a great time.)

Sally Field

Sally Field looks comfortingly like Sally Field! I feel confident this is all cashmere. (I assume the color story is supportive of Ukraine.)

Hadley Robinson

She went for it! (She's playing Jeanie Buss, and I just learned that I didn't really know how old Jeanie Buss is.) I like this but maybe would have done a contrasting color for the bag?

Sarah Ramos

This is dishy! I'm never gonna wholly love a bra top, usually, and I think I wish this one were more of a tube top? This is a nitpick. This skirt is my JAM.

Sean Patrick Small

He's playing Larry Bird, and I can SEE IT.

Jimel Atkins

Hello, this is suave! He plays Jamaal Wilkes, who I LOVED as a child.

DeVaughn Nixon

This is VERY elegant and he looks so much like his Dad to me.

Justine Lupe

This pattern is great, but this feels like....too much of a muchness, as my old boss used to say. My personal take is that you can only wear two of those pieces at a time. (I might also want to see this with a less formal-feeling shoe?)

Andre Royo

This whole look says "I'm your very cool and brilliant sociology professor."

Spencer Garrett

He is playing iconic Lakers play-by-play announcer Chick Hearn, whose voice I can still hear in my head. He invented the term "slam dunk"!

Michael Chiklis

Wearing a Celtics shirt to this is cheeky! (And he's also playing Red Auerbach, the famous Celtics coach, so it's apt.)

Darone Okolie

(a) He's handsome and (b) this might be too much leather together.

Molly Gordon

This is the face of a woman who knows the step and repeat is making her look like a floating torso!

Jason Segel

Jason looks like he's been out in the garden a lot over the last few days! (His suit is good, though.) I recently saw him in person at the Huntington Library and he is real good-looking in the flesh. (He was also REALLY NICE to everyone.)

Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez

These might do double duty as jammies but they are SNAZZY jammies. Snazzammies? No.

LisaGay Hamilton

Hello! She looks so foxy!
