1, Paige Bueckers, PG UConn, to Dallas Wings

This was a foregone conclusion even before Paige and UConn won the natty (SIGH; as an ND fan from our Big East days, I have never liked Geno Auriemma). She looks gorgeous and was EXTREMELY calm and composed. I'm not looking forward to everyone making it Paige vs. Caitlin, but it WILL be exciting to have them back in the same league.

2. Doninique Malonga, C from France, to Seattle Storm

She was the first of several foreign players who got drafted, and though some of those were surprises, analysts saw this one coming. She's 6'6"! And only 19! And she'll get to play with my beloved Skylar Diggins-Smith. She looks delightful and I'm glad she's getting paid and will gladly go housesit for her in France.

3. Sonia Citron, SG from Notre Dame, to Washington Mystics

My girl! But, it feels like whoever styled Caitlin Clark last year got hold of her, and that's not a great thing.

4. Kiki Iriafen, PF USC, to Washington Mystics

Kiki worked with Nneka Alexander to make a dress that nods to her Nigerian culture, and her whole family wore Nigerian dress and looked super. This gown is gorgeous; Nneka apparently mostly does wedding gowns, but she should branch out!

6. Georgia Amoore, PG Kentucky, to Washington Mystics

Golden State picked Lithuania's Justė Jocytė fifth, and she wasn't there, so we skip to Washington AGAIN. What a roster haul. Georgia was styled by Russell Westbrook, who is now the first NBA star to do that for a draftee. I don't know about the shoe choice, but he did a good job otherwise, and I'm not even that made at those. The girl's feet are how she makes her living. Keep it comfy.

7. Aneesah Morrow, PF LSU, to Connecticut Sun

The sun DID come out... TO MORROW. ZINGGGGGG.

8. Saniya Rivers, SF NC State, to Connecticut Sun

She's in Wolfpack colors! I don't love that her top looks like some kind of medical support device, but the purse is killer AND TRUE.

9. Sarah Ashlee Barker, SG Alabama, to LA Sparks

The sleeves have thumbholes. I am not a believer in formal thumbholes. But I WOULD like to hear more about her clutch.

10. Ajša Sivka, PF Slovenia, to Chicago Sky

Good news, Ajša: Chicago is a great city. I also kind of wish Russell Westbrook had styled her footwear.

11. Hailey Van Lith, PG TCU, to Chicago Sky

Hailey was projected to go around this spot, but she still seemed REALLY emotional, like she was afraid she was going to drop out of round one. And she was grateful in a way that said she'd been privately thinking, "OMG what if I don't get picked." What a mindfuck it must be -- like gym class, but writ large and expensive. She looks kind of like Hayden Panettiere in the Nashville days.

12. Aziaha James, SG NC State, to Dallas Wings

She seemed DELIGHTED to get picked -- and why not; she gets Paige on her team -- but this is a total scrolldown for me. Not that it doesn't have personality, but that sock and shoe combo feels SO toddler to me.

14. Madison Scott, SG Ole Miss, to Dallas Wings

She was super happy and teary-eyed, to the point that even Holly Rowe -- the reporter on the floor -- was getting emotional watching Madison and her family hug. I am not made of stone, and neither is Holly, apparently.

17. Shyanne Sellers, PG Maryland, to Golden State Valkyries

This suit is fantastic. Welcome to Cali, Shyanne!

21. Sania Feagin, PF South Carolina, to LA Sparks

This looks a bit like a last-minute wedding dress. But, she's coming to our team and we've got Kelsey Plum now so it's gonna get hot over at Staples Center. (It will always be Staples Center, just like the building in Chicago will always be the Sears Tower, period.)

26. Serena Sundell, PG Kansas State, to Seattle Storm

I believe she's the last of the drafted players who attended, and she was taken at the very top of the third round (out of three)(see, it's a small league -- think about how many schools have teams, and you realize it's HARD to get this far). This dress says she maybe wasn't sure she'd get picked and didn't want to go too wild. But she did. Congrats! Seattle rules.

Deja Kelly

She played in college, finishing up at Oregon this season, but is now a reporter I believe. I LOVE the 80s-flavored drama of her outfit.

Elle Duncan

Elle works for ESPN. I appreciate that she brought sparkles to the party.

Chiney Ogwumike

She seems to be pivoting to broadcasting. And I like that she picked a flashy shoe even though presumably her feet were not on-camera (she tends to be at the desk, I think).

Andraya Carter

This ombre read nicely on camera, even though she was ALSO behind the desk.

Dearica Hamby and Amaya Hamby

Dearica brought her daughter to welcome the Sparks's new players. Her dress looks like it was tailored for her daughter's height. And Amaya looks EXCELLENT. She can represent me anyday.
