This dress has good intentions but it's SUCH a hodge-podge of ideas. The bra part doesn't sit well. The fabric extruding from the torso is weird. The slit is a harsh angle. I wanted more for her on her big night...

NEW YORK, NEW YORK - APRIL 13: Azzi Fudd (R) of UConn walks to hug WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert (L) after being selected with the 1st pick in the first round by the Dallas Wings during the 2026 WNBA Draft at The Shed on April 13, 2026 in New York City. ... and apparently so did she, because she changed inside before the draft began. And into a MUCH better dress. This is the only photo we had available, but you can see here that she looks like a million bucks. It's so much better! Why bother with the first one?

No. 2: Olivia Miles, TCU, to Minnesota Lynx

I love Olivia, even though she left Notre Dame for TCU this year. I can't be mad. Get your bag, Olivia! And apparently it paid off with a great draft spot and a team that traded up for her. Unfortunately, she is wearing literally the exact same thing as a valet would.

No. 3: Awa Fam Thiam of Spain to Seattle Storm

This maybe feels more like a Eurovision costume.

No. 4: Lauren Betts, UCLA, to Washington Mystics

NEW YORK, NEW YORK - APRIL 13: Lauren Betts of UCLA arrives prior to the 2026 WNBA Draft at The Shed on April 13, 2026 in New York City. Lauren is not only a great player, but she's spoken up so honestly and admirably about mental health, and her struggles with it. I really applaud that. And she looks gorgeous.

NEW YORK, NEW YORK - APRIL 13: Lauren Betts (L) of UCLA poses with WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert (R) after being selected with the 4th pick in the first round by the Washington Mystics during the 2026 WNBA Draft at The Shed on April 13, 2026 in New York City. Sidebar, this photo shows just what a tall drink of water she is.

No. 5: Gabriela Jaquez of UCLA to Chicago Sky

Her brother Jaime played for UCLA, too. (He's in Miami now.) I love that she gets to be the ONLY national champ in the family, and holy cow, did they battle through an intense field to get there. YAY WOMEN'S SPORTS.

No. 6: Kiki Rice of UCLA to Toronto Tempo

I am a little tired of outfits that hinge upon someone's jacket falling off.

No. 8: Flau'jae Johnson, LSU, to Seattle Storm (via Golden State)

NEW YORK, NEW YORK - APRIL 13: Flau jae Johnson of LSU arrives prior to the 2026 WNBA Draft at The Shed on April 13, 2026 in New York City. NOTE TO USER: User expressly acknowledges and agrees that, by downloading and or using this photograph, User is consenting to the terms and conditions of the Getty Images License Agreement. (Photo by Cindy Ord/Getty Images)

Flau'jae was drafted and then traded, which I'm sure is a whiplash sort of feeling. She is ALSO a rapper who has three albums and has appeared on America's Got Talent. She looks like a woman at the Oscars afterparties.

No. 9: Anglea Dugalic, UCLA, to Washington Mystics

NEW YORK, NEW YORK - APRIL 13: Angela Dugalic of UCLA arrives prior to the 2026 WNBA Draft at The Shed on April 13, 2026 in New York City. NOTE TO USER: User expressly acknowledges and agrees that, by downloading and or using this photograph, User is consenting to the terms and conditions of the Getty Images License Agreement. She and Lauren Betts get to be teammates again! Between them and Sonia Citron, an ND grad who's on the Mystics, things seem pretty exciting over there. I would like to clip off those straps and give her better shoes.

No. 10: Raven Johnson, South Carolina, to Indiana Fever

I... assume she has shorts under there, at least?!?

No. 11: Cotie McMahon, Ole Miss, to the Washington Mystics

I ate my own caption for this somehow? I had meant to write that I like the idea of this but that it needs tall boots. Or pants. And never socks with strappy shoes.

No. 12: Nell Angloma, France, to Connecticut Sun

NEW YORK, NEW YORK - APRIL 13: Nell Angloma of France arrives prior to the 2026 WNBA Draft at The Shed on April 13, 2026 in New York City. Don't love the pleat in the pants. I wonder if the top would have stood out better, too, if the pants were dark?

No. 13: Madina Okot, Kenya, to Atlanta Dream

NEW YORK, NEW YORK - APRIL 13: Madina Okot of Kenya arrives prior to the 2026 WNBA Draft at The Shed on April 13, 2026 in New York City. This is kind of the full-suit version of Cotie's outfit, and I do prefer it.

No. 15: Gianna Kneepkens of UCLA to Connecticut Sun

This dress would be improved 40 percent by an IMMEDIATE shoe change, but that would still leave it in a deficit.

No. 16: Marta Suarez, Spain, to Golden State Valkyries

NEW YORK, NEW YORK - APRIL 13: Marta Suarez of Spain arrives prior to the 2026 WNBA Draft at The Shed on April 13, 2026 in New York City. (Photo by Cindy Ord/Getty Images)

I think she was drafted by Seattle and traded, so she and Flau'jae must have been involved in a larger deal. I am confused by the leather harness and random necktie. it's like someone asked a particularly hallucinatory AI to design a suit.

No. 18: Charlisse Leger-Walker, UCLA, to Connecticut Sun

NEW YORK, NEW YORK - APRIL 13: Charlisse Leger-Walker (L) of UCLA poses with WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert (R) after being selected with the 18th pick in the second round by the Connecticut Sun during the 2026 WNBA Draft at The Shed on April 13, 2026 in New York City. I wish we had a better pic here! I like the idea and I LOVE her hair.

Yay! Go find Sonia Citron! The Mystics might be super fun to watch once this core gels.

No. 20: Ta’Niya Latson, South Carolina, to LA Sparks

This did not need the gloves.

Andraya played for Tennessee, and she's now at the desk. I quite like her, and she looks really nice here.

Ashanti Plummer

She works in some kind of brand partnership situation; I only downloaded the picture because her outfit is INSANE. Taking a scissors to a WNBA shirt is one thing, but I am thoroughly confused as to how those boots happened. Maybe her brand is chaos.

UCLA Dominated the 2026 WNBA Draft
And lots of folks wore black.
